Dec 21, 2015 Everytime this comes up it's the same thing... there's a market for the trap rap, theres a market for conscious rap you'll never k--- off or get rid of either. It just really comes off as people being bitter that Trap Rap is what's hot now. In however long it'll be somehting else and the people will complain about that. If Cole & KDot want more people along side them in the mainstream work with more people, cosign them, bring them on tours, hop on tracks with them, bring them into your own etc. You may be moving against the tide trying to be a conscious artists ruling the radio in 2015.. but that doesn't mean you can't be successful. There's plenty of ways to get mainstreams eyes on you outside of radio & TV. There's plenty of artists on a indepdent level pumping out amazing more conscious hip hop, labels like Rhymesayers, Mello Music Group, Jamla, collectives like Hellfyre Club etc. Why not work with them more, Cole? Kendrick? Help grow their stage with exposing them to your own stage. Last I checked Cole & KDot does alright sales & eyes wise sooooooo........

Dec 21, 2015 Cole lost. Kanye a visionary. Maybe he sees thug, future, trav etc as the future of hip hop. Also, this thread a bit of a reach. Coles camp listens to future almost religiously lol. His manager dubbed march madness as the PSA of this era. Young thug also said he has Cole and Kendrick influences on his new album so I'm sure there's somewhat of a relationship there.
Dec 21, 2015 I think cole was just referring to those rappers who rap about selling drugs and they dont even do that no more, and some probably never done it. and they steady pumping that s--- to the young people and s---. example is T.I. (i respect t.i ) but, I remember T.I being on mtv rapfix and he was saying he wanted to get back to making it cool to be from the streets or whatever, he was like, going to college is good and rappers like cole, kanye and drake are cool, but he wanted to make it cool to the kids to be from the streets again when t.i said that, that s--- been in my head ever since, like, he sounded stupid as f--- saying that, knowing he has kids and s---, and i know he dont want his kids doing s--- like that. but he wanna make it cool to other young kids..
