i'm not the least bit interested in turning this into a me-vs-perry thread. if you actually have an issue with me, dm me. there's lots of good music to discuss and we're doing everyone a disservice by distracting from that.

No offense, and I liked the way you approached the Thug write up in general, but I kinda wanted more from that write up. but its all good, this isnt a piece on thug or anything

Jeff's future write up was incredible though smh

Also, Haley's Sreemlife write up confused me lmao

as far as finding new music from this list, Ty Money's Cinco De Money is fire!!

I think Shadow of Doubt is getting a bit overrated as well.

im still pissed @ myself for not having heard the billy woods project

I think it's really good but yeah it did seem a little high on here. Also, I've heard a lot of good things about The Good Fight surprised to see it so low. Kinda wanna check that out right now.

well not just it's placement on this list, but in general. Gibbs definitely made the move from a Pinata type project to Shadow of Doubt seem effortless, but some of the records on Shadow felt stale to me. Like it was emulation rather than genuine creativity

You just said they don't exist, and now you're defining them :s

I learned about Saigon on that show after I fell in love with his first album.

Well I have. I checked it out once I saw the XXL freshman list last year, but you claiming I haven't kind of proves my point regarding how obscure this list is.

I would love to know the size of the demographic you're aiming for

And this is my point. You pick the most obscure albums so you can make the argument that those who challenge the validity of the list haven't heard most of it. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard all of these yourself. You've probably only skimmed some of them. But talking about hiphop, to you, has always been about trying to prove you're more informed then other listeners. You're really just a walking, hipster caricature, to the point of parody.

    no it definitely isn't..lol

    Compton is almost flawless

but to each their own.. if you like it. that's cool

most of these are based off popularity not Quality

    ok I correct myself.. Bias

Kendrick's album should definitely be in the top 20.. (at least) and Drake's?.. top 40

There's A LOT of great albums on this list, but placed wrong IMO.

but hey.. these are all opinions after all.. so

Would make a few changes, but overall good list. Was surprised TPAB wasn't on there, but to each his own.
There's a lot of albums on there that I haven't gotten around to hearing or heard of tbh. Need to get around to doing so at some point.

lol the notion that two people would "argue" when one of those people hasn't heard the album in question is absurd. why would anyone want to do that?

drakes project should be nowhere near this list. this is top 50 albums across all genres.

kendricks, im assuming, didn't make the cut for like the 25 or so rap albums on here

I give you that... I've only heard about 40 albums this year.. and my list would look different

but that's because I only listen to people who interest me..sooo I guess it's their job.. maybe if this were a top 100?

I'm curious as to what your top 50 would look like
