this song is completely underwhelming and anyone who says differently is completely blind and/or purposely trying to not believe it.


with the video they had a tremendous opportunity to improve the actual core feeling of the song, and that was probably one of the biggest flops subjectively speaking of eminem's career.

the hook was re-used garbage, quite disappointing considering a big name like nate was on it, and everyone was hype at the moment the tracklist showed him on it.

Headlights is actually a decent song considering it's completely contrived and insincere. Eminem didn't mean a word he said.

this is not an Eminem hate thread, this is more of discussing the fact Eminem been a very lazy writer...i cant find who said it or where i read it..but "spazzing" is the easiest form of writing just incase someone wanna bring up other songs where Em went "nuts" or whatever...anyway


let me say, i personally love headlights, but i understand that its a bad song..heres why

Headlights has one of the best beats/hooks of any emotional Eminem song in my opinion...completely ruined by the half assed lines rapped by Em...some are not bad as much as "funny" where he tried to be emotional...and there are lazy bits through out the song making the song unlistenable to some fans

let me provide examples
But regardless I don't hate you 'cause, Ma,
You're still beautiful to me, 'cause you're my ma

now this is straight out bad writing, he coulda said basically anything instead of "cuz your my mom" and it woulda worked better...this is the definition of lazy..not to mention its a redundant

Desert Storm and both of us put together can form an atomic bomb equivalent to Chemical warfare
not rly bad line, just awkwardly placed/said

We're in the same f---ing boat
also very musically awkward and out of rhythm

That song I no longer play at shows and I cringe every time it's on the radio
literally what? who the f--- play that ?

cant describe how lazy this is, straight up bad writing

I truthfully think it's a great song, sorry @Koolo . I love the fact that the beat resembles "Mother" by Lennon. Love the honesty.

And they were probably getting burgers, what's wrong with that?

the song has classic moments imo...the best part of MMLP2 for me is on this song

the raw emotion, the honestly you feel..the flow, the words..by far the best part of MMLP2 is this...also there are few other things here and there...but overall its littered with bad lines that it can ruin it

and it has the best hook of the entire album, nothing comes close
