Nov 17, 2015 And paul probably didn't control what beats em could hear That's just s-----y. Imagine all the dope beats Paul could've turned down? Could've been classics
Nov 17, 2015 MMLP2 sounded like Eminem on auto pilot. Relapse felt distinct. Recovery felt distinct. MMLP2 sounded bland. ShadyXV sounded similar to MMLP2 also which pretty much proves that's the path he'll be going down. The only thing that gives me hope is an interview he did recently where he said he notices a problem where he raps a lot and by the end of the song, listeners are scratching their heads wondering what he was even talking about. That is what MMLP2 was filled with. Songs about nothing.
Nov 17, 2015 He can recapture his previous success which was Recovery. But as for recapturing what made him a goat... It's kinda impossible. Title and the op are not suggesting same s---...
Nov 17, 2015 Nothing ? Man just Bad Guy and Headlights were more about something than anything on Recovery...

Nov 17, 2015 Rhyme or Reason - was great and he talked about his dad on that one So Much Better - Sounded like another song about Kim or maybe another relationshit he has been in after he came back. Survival - This is bs but Recovery has few similar to that like Won't Back Down Legacy - It's a classic. He starts as a kid, 2nd verse he is a teen or something like that talking about him feeling and told to be useless and the final verse was him realizing how dope he is actually a------ - Even though it was kinda unlistenable, content was related to MMLP Berzerk & Rap God songs are kinda obvious.. Brainless - Classic. Talked about being bullied in school, how he is such an influence in hip hop etc.. Stronger Than I Was - It was argued that it's from Kim's perspective but it might as well simply Em's perspective too. Very underrated.. Enough lol :D I mean MMLP 2 content is a lot better than Recovery. People act like the whole albüm was about how he recovered from all s----s etc.. There are plenty of fillers and for example Proof tribute s----d hard. MMLP 2 has filler kinda tracks but definitely more enjoyable than Recovery's...
Nov 17, 2015 A few lines about something doesn't mean that's what the song is about. A few throwaway lines about his Dad doesn't make Rhyme or reason a song about his dad. Not to mention the fact that for a song about his father who he never knew, it could have been pretty emotional. It wasn't.
Nov 17, 2015 Yeah but also consider that non-solo projects sound like the previous project. Take HTS for example. Sounded like Recovery. ShadyXV sounded like MMLP2 a bit but not a lot. Like you said, he's aware so I'm sure the next project will be different
Nov 17, 2015 I personally think that Eminem has had enough of a successful career, should just retire tbh. No need to relive the glory days.
Nov 17, 2015 Judging by the last 6 years, there is no reason to think Eminem can regain his ability. He's shown glimmers of brilliance with every different project, but he can rarely finish out a whole song - one verse even - without doing something stupid. The odds of him suddenly lasting an entire album are slim at best (no pun)
Nov 17, 2015 Pretty much this. We see glimpses of the greatness he once had, but he's too inconsistent now. It doesn't come as natural as it once did, seems forced at times. After The Warning I had extremely high hopes for Recovery, then just got yelled at over s-----y production with corny inspirational s---, which he's now run way into the ground.
Nov 17, 2015 No. He'll never be as big as he was in 2002. But he still can get bigger than he has ever been post-hiatus.
