Nov 4, 2015 You guys know Infinite. Eminem's very first debut which I personally think really good and underrated album. Anyway, I'm not gonna talk about how good it is and s--- like that. As you can read on the title, I have a question I really wonder if someone caught any possible reason for lack of Proof in Infinite. You see Proof was way more popular than Eminem and probably the biggest local rap figure in Detroit at the time, he was hosting battles in Hip Hop Shop but he only introduced Eminem on W.E.G.O. Interlude with few lines. Even Kon Artis involved in it by giving beats and verses but Proof wasn't featured at all. So what could be the reason behind this ? EDIT - ODD s--- ABOUT EMINEM & PROOF - Proof & Eminem never had a song with just two of them were on. - Eminem featured on Bizarre's "Attack Of The Weirdos" which released in 1997 and Bizarre was also on "No One's Iller" which was the 7th track on The Slim Shady EP. - Eminem probably took place and rapped at least one verse on every rapper's album who was in Shady before Shady 2.0 but not Proof..
Nov 4, 2015 Realized that Proof doesn't happen to be featured in The Slim Shady EP which released in 1997 neither. Swifty, Bizzare and even Fuzz Scota b---- featured on No One's Iller track.
Nov 4, 2015 Oh oops sorry man at work didn't really get to read it. But idk I mean that situation was odd I feel like they had a fallout at one point
Nov 4, 2015 Also, if you exclude all the D12 material released, Eminem never featured with Proof on Proof's albums nor Em's albums neither. Even 50 Cent rapped on Searching For Jerry Garcia s---. Bizzare had a verse on Amityville which was a disaster verse btw. Isn't it interesting...
Nov 4, 2015 The reason Proof wasn't on sslp lp was because they weren't speaking to one another back then. About infinite Im not sure but at least he contributed something. They were probably just both busy then
Nov 4, 2015 50 didnt rapped on SFJG.. It was a sample.. Also I think em said once that he and proof wanted to do their own unique things when it comes to solo releases
Nov 4, 2015 Ιt makes sense tho.. Both taking their ways into music.. Proof got Dilla at some point but em got dre and that was it
Nov 4, 2015 But still, it doesn't make sense at all. It's your best friend and you already makin music together as D12 but when it comes to a little feature on eachother's albums it's them wanting unique things in solo s----s. LOL
Nov 4, 2015 They have freestyles together. How do we know they didn't make songs together but didn't release em because they thought they weren't good enough.
Nov 5, 2015 They had beef for a long time when they were coming up. That's the reason Proof wasn't on s--- on You, the first proper single from Devil's Night.
Nov 5, 2015 Proof & Em were often "beefing" coming up. The weren't on speaking terms during the whole "Slim Shady EP era". Back then, Bizarre was WAY closer than Proof as the two of them were rolling with the Outisdaz. As for Proof, he was deeply involved with his other crew, 5 ELA, that was more a Slum Village type of band (Dilla was producing for them, btw). You should note that Proof wasn't on ATTACK OF THE WEIRDOS (Bizarre's EP) either As for Infinite, you can't say : Proof was really instrumental in this album : he co-produced a lot of tracks (replaying the drums). He also had a skit on it. Yeah, they had mad chemistry together (it's notble on the radio freestyles) and it's a shame their only real duet is : "Just Rhymin wit Proof", released as a vinyl. Em was involved in "Grown man s---"', a Proof's mixtape : he produced some tracks and he's rhyming a few lines on one song (re-uses as TRAPPED in THE REUP) But I have the sense that he was hard to get a hold of Proof and put him in the studio : he is on less tracks than anyone on the two D12 albums. Still, that's strange 'cause his output as a solo artist is huge and he had more solo projects, mixtapes, side projects than anyone in the group. We'll never know, I suppose.
