    i can see everyone cosigning vince for all the wrong reasons lol. his main point is just that he raps for a living, he has no obligation to be as sanctimonious about older hip hop releases as others feel they need to be.

    that doesnt mean he doesnt listen to older hip hop (he does), doesnt mean some of his favorite artists arent from those various eras (they are), doesnt mean he discredits others for liking it (just people who hold it on an unparalleled pedestal)

    You want me to explain to you why a guy who spends 3/4s of his day on the internet doesnt understand how a group of men made a lucrative job called "rapper" out of nothing through sheer force of will and raw talent?

    the 1990s might have by volume the best rap ever, and definitely at the very top tend. but vince is totally in the right here. he's 23--what f---ing obligation does he have to be up on the group home album? he's not trying to be a critic or a historian. he's rapping.
