Yeah and that's all fine and good but popularity has minimal correlation with talent and influence is a whole nother, more relevant story.

saying kanye or wayne are "rapper of 00s" isnt ignoring what eminem's done. its putting it in context.

I know, he wrote in his reply that one of Kanyes albums were a game changer ( I can't remember which one ) I'm just saying you should mention what eminems album did

We're all biased in our own way but however you look at it, Marshall brought out 2 classic albums that transcended the genre. I value his genius over the fact he went off the radar for a few years. Wayne just can't rap anywhere near on Eminem's level, sold nowhere near as much and had nowhere near as much influence.

People have been mentioning what Eminems albums did all thread m8. Kanyes the one being marginalized/ignored. Which is ridiculous b/c, as far as influencing the genre go, TCD/LR/808s did more than any eminem record.

I disagree that Kanye is being ignored, maybe Wayne. It's not like eminem didn't influence anyone. Eminem influenced and entire generation of rap fans to become rap fans.

we're talking about influence on the genre, as in the styles/sounds/content/etc of other rappers. EVERYONE already admitted eminem popularized the genre back then.

An easy way to tell if someone is bad at listening to rap is if they don't recognize that Jay Z and Lil Wayne are two of the greatest to ever do it.
