Right, but one could argue those are metaphors. There's always more to Marshall than meets the eye. The picking his nose could represent him digging for the strength to move on, and the s--- is his emotional release and him actually letting go of Kim, the s--- is symbolic of Kim. The Madden reference also portrays their relationship to be very much like football. At that point, Marshall has passed on the emotional baggage to her. You can't take Eminem lyrics at face value.
