    M.O.P., Warriorz (2000)

    those who have only a passing familiarity with brownsville's best rap group might be surprised they hit their critical and commercial peak so late. they're mostly associated with timbs and broken bottles and clintons, but with the turn of the century came Warriorz, M.O.P.'s hardest and, simultaneously, most considered work, one of the last masterpieces of new york street rap. i think, knowing the average age and prevailing tastes of this forum, that it probably falls in a blind spot for a lot of people. i'll avoid saying to much so as to not sway the conversation. this is our album until next monday.

    Nice pick, I haven't listened to this one in a very long time. Some of DJ Premier's finest work can be found here, not to mention Cold As Ice>>>

    I remember they were signed to the Roc for a little bit but that experiment didn't work out too well.
