    that was also my s---. and it's better. I wish Em's verse wasn't in the middle of his addiction (for the original). I saw the music video on TV for this song during "VintageVibe" (a thing much music does here) and I can't believe how different he looked. I never noticed back then but I can really see it now

    Because he's only been at this level for a few years now. When you release as much music as he does you're bound to have a drop off in quality at some point. Who's to say he won't have a mid career slump like his idol Wayne did? Then we would be comparing this 3-5 year run of Thug to Em's 99-03. I shouldn't have to explain who would win that comparison.

    It being better is subjective, though. Alot of people value music being catchy more but there's also people who value lyrics more.

    It does though. Before we start talking about objective quality, we have to agree on a predetermined set of rules/ways of measuring quality and what makes an album good. But we can't because different people value different things. We're all different so our emotional reaction to music (and subsequently our preferences) are different. If someone prefers the sound of dusty boom bap, they're going to put Jewelz over most, if not all, modern hip hop classics. If someone cares more about rhymes than beats, they're going to think Eminem is better than Young Thug, if someone cares more about complexity than hooks, they're going to think Lupe FIasco is better than 50 Cent. Vice versa.

    Bull-f---ing-s---. I'm not even an Em stan but this is just flat out wrong. Thug's current run will be nowhere near as influential or quality as Em between '99-01.

    If we're talking personal opinions, you guys can think Thug's '13-15 run is better, but in terms of influence and innovation, Eminem's '99-02 run wins, bar none.
