    Eminem is equally responsible. Anytime his music is questioned people get overly defensive.

    Thug fans have more of a right to be defensive because a large chunk of people who dismiss him haven't given him a chance. Everyone who listens to rap has given eminem a chance.

    Honestly, there's nothing inherently wrong with picking either artist. However, the main problem with this debate is that I will guarantee you that most of the people who are picking Eminem haven't listened to Thug's discography as extensively as the people picking Thug have Eminem's. Em is a much more popular artist who's been around longer, so of course most rap fans will be familiar with his discography.

    It does though. Before we start talking about objective quality, we have to agree on a predetermined set of rules/ways of measuring quality and what makes an album good. But we can't because different people value different things. We're all different so our emotional reaction to music (and subsequently our preferences) are different. If someone prefers the sound of dusty boom bap, they're going to put Jewelz over most, if not all, modern hip hop classics. If someone cares more about rhymes than beats, they're going to think Eminem is better than Young Thug, if someone cares more about complexity than hooks, they're going to think Lupe FIasco is better than 50 Cent. Vice versa.
