His career was not a flop, it simply served its purpose and now, because of the shifting industry trends, his music is no longer palatable to a large commercial audience the same way it once was. Wayne's only problem is his inability to adapt to these changing trends. This will lead to his fast decline into irrelevancy. This isn't the same as a flop. Lets not forget his career also involves introducing Drake and Nicki Minaj to the game circa 2009, which changed the entire industry at the time. YMCMB introduced this hit making formula but sadly ran it completely into the ground, amounting to essentially years of recycled content over recycled production.
