Jul 3, 2015 If he is so irrelevant then why the f--- did he just blow up this forum more than it has been in MONTHS? And to all the people who are gonna disagree and post some bs:
Jul 3, 2015 Em is kinda irrelevant lol. Just cause he can drop an album and sell 600k first week doesn't mean he's on people's radar outside of Eminem fans. That's expected. Plus he hasn't put out a good song in years. Nobody outside of his fanbase is checking for Eminem.
Jul 3, 2015 Just like everyone outside the 250k who bought FHD drive first week aren't checking for him. Your argument makes no sense.
Jul 3, 2015 Yeah, and that album had more hype than any of Em's albums since Encore and has sold a million copies in less than a year with no features and no promotion. MMLP2 literally came and went and Relapse and Recovery weren't received well. J Cole is more relevant than Eminem right now. So is Kendrick, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, even f---in' Future and Young Thug. Jay-Z and Kanye are also still big names. Don't know why you have to bring Cole in because he's my avy. Also, it was 371k first week
Jul 3, 2015 He's right. But Em hasn't been completely irrelevant. He got 2 Diamond singles, regardless if they are his poppy hits, that goes for every rapper. J.Cole's a perfect example, for every "Tale Of 2 Citiez" and "Let Nas Down", we get a " Work Out" and "Crooked Smile" (still a good song though)
Jul 3, 2015 Yeah I'm not saying he's 50 irrelevant, but he's not a mega-star anymore. Not everyone is obsessed with Eminem like they were 15 years ago. He's gotten too corny and people lost interest in his music. Jay-Z has remained relevant and a big name even years being removed from his prime (regardless if you think he leeches off other people to remain relevant). Outkast came back last year and had everyone going crazy for festival tickets. Nas will probably drop another great album this year and will do decent numbers. Just to name a few. I knew what responses I was going to get when I clicked post reply lmao. I like what Cole is doing right now. Focusing on the craft, caring less about hits and improved majorly his last 2 albums even tho one of them contained Power Trip and Crooked Smile. He's doing the "f--- radio and media" thing better than Kanye did during the Yeezus era, and that was just Kanye being Kanye than being truly feeling that way. He's also making a huge impact outside of music. Can't do nothing but respect what he is doing right now.
Jul 3, 2015 How stupid is this post? selling 600k first week means your not relevant? I bet all the other relevant rappers wish they was irrelevant as him and he's constantly on people's radars he's still the one of if not the biggest rapper alive
Jul 3, 2015 His fanbase? Yeah all rappers would love to have his fanbase. Half a--- albums and still go gold. He's not the biggest rapper alive. Drake or Kendrick is. Fetty Wap right now is more relevant than Eminem.
Jul 3, 2015 Fetty Wap right now is more RELEVANT than Eminem. That's a fact. I hate his music but there are literally ten or more rappers that are more relevant than Em. I could care less about relevancy because that doesn't mean you make good music, but not like Em has been doing since Relapse, and the production carried the entire album.
Jul 3, 2015 You can't sell 2 million copies just to your fanbase, again you don't know what are u talking about....
Jul 3, 2015 Don't care for Eminem, but don't hate him. He deserves his status as a top ten or so rapper, but stop acting like he's immune to criticism. Eminem fans are awful lmao
