Clipse album is amazing and very close to AOTY for me but The Weeknd is still AOTY for me. I do have some bias though as The Weeknd is one of my favorite singers of all time. But to be fair I was actually pretty negative going into that album because the singles The Weeknd were putting out weren’t the best, the music videos were cheap and generic, the rollout was messy, etc. so I actually didn’t have high expectations for Hurry Up Tomorrow at all but it ended up being incredible.

Everything I said about Drake is slowly starting to be proven true, yet I got called pretentious by people who had no idea what they were talking about. Scru Face Jean explains it here perfectly why Kendrick Lamar should not be blamed for hip hop songs not being in the top 40. Of course most people on this forum will not understand it because, despite this being a hip hop forum, most people here are pretty anti-hip hop at this point.
