I was in the second grade (so, 7 y/o) when I got in trouble at school for talking about MMLP. I can remember thinking Eminem saying "coke" on k--- You was in reference to Coca Cola. Back then, the best tracks from a handful of hot rap albums were selected and thrown onto a mixtape CD-R of whatever was popular at the time. I grew up predominately listening to JUST rap music (thanks dad). From age 5 to 15 (2000 - 2010) I'd say like 90% of the music I (my dad) listened to was hip-hop. Eventually, around 2010, my taste started to grow independent from his, and continues to grow today. In 2010, when I was an angsty teengager rediscovered Eminem's discography as a whole (rather than odd songs here and there) I could've listened to MMLP and TES literally all day long... now I don't even have them on my hard drive.

I dunno where I was going with this spiel about music but in contribution to the thread

1) hate on em is not a trend, his music is horrible.
2) music is forever changing. some rappers adapt well as time goes on, others lack the creativity to produce quality music. eminem is not one of those rappers.

Hip hop sound changed. Imagine eminem puts out 1999-2003 material sound

If there was anyone to be called his biggest STAN on this forum, it definitely should be me, because of how much passionate I am about him and his music, as I've been along on the journey with his music since the 2002-2003, but really I have to say that some of his recent work kinda disappoints me, maybe because some or most of it are leftovers, but it doesn't downgrade him nonetheless, whether he makes good or bad music, people will still listen to him. He's the self proclaimed Rap God & I think he earned that title, at this point all I could say is expect anything from Em. Hoping the BME tracks on SouthPaw OST will be great. I think Royce is one of the few who can go toe to toe lyrically with Em and bring the best out of him.

Also, most of the fans that came after Recovery know nothing about real hip hop. (Bunch of stupid a--- teenage girls or guys.) the least to say.
