like its really amazing verse dont get me wrong...but im tired of people saying it might be his best ever...stop

its not top 5....not top 10...not even top 20

if this verse dropped in 2002..it wouldnt be mentioned anymore....any random verse from that period is better

Why everything got to be compared for top 10, top 5 etc.?
I dont give a s--- where it lands, all I know is I still love the verse for what it is..

This was a great f---ing verse. It's probably some of the deepest self reflection ever heard on an Em track. We find out after Matthew and Eminem plunge into the ocean that Matthew and Stan are a personification of Em's thoughts,fears, insecurities and the karma he faces for making a career out of hurting people with his lyrical shock value. The stan story, his MMLP saga, and his career come full circle all in one verse. It is overrated and not as quality as his old stuff just because his the music in his prime was perfect if not d--- near. A line like the toilet clogged line is can't be found in his golden era stuff because his wit was way sharper than that. But it's expected because he's older now. It's not a top 20 verse but it's up there with Deja Vu as the best modern Em verse and right outside of that top 20. As a longtime diehard Em fan and a hip hop head, I appreciated this for what it was: a more mature, insightful Em painting a self-portrait of the walking contradiction that is Eminem.

Verse is amazing in every way. The majority of the content is a summary of his career and what "Stan" really stands for. Not to mention it's one of the best beats he's ever rapped over and that Slim Shady demon voice in the background just puts it over the top. 10/10 verse. One of the greatest moments of his career imo. Just a shame it was a part of such a disappointing song and album.

Ok, the way I see it is: Bad Guy is a song told from Mathew's perspective. In the 3rd verse he's telling us how he's going after Em. Instead of just saying, "I went up to the window and looked", he uses a literary device to depict his actions to the listener. I don't think he literally means he peaked. And even if he did, maybe that's the reason he's killing Em. Because he's hit a dead end in life and feels like he has nothing more to offer the world. So what does he do? He goes out with a b---.

i think that the " like i reached my full potential" line it's just a pun Matthew is making . I consider the whole first half of the song to be Matthew talking/ rapping to a tape recorder, something like last Stan verse. Nobody reached his full potential, it's just Matthew trying to act funny and clever.

Throughout the whole song Mathew is clearly mentally and emotionally unstable. He even says, "Well I've never recovered". Its quite possible that there's other troubling stuff going on in Mathew's life that the listener isn't made aware of. "My life is garbage and I'm about to take it out on you". Like I said in one of my prior posts, maybe the dude was going nowhere in life and he just snapped. Said, "f--- it, I'm gonna end it". Yeah he does say he's seeking revenge but that could just be an excuse for his self destructive actions which are also leading him to his own death. Rather than tell himself he gave up, he'd rather think he's going out avenging his brother.

That's because the verse wouldn't make sense in 2002. The verse is about everything he's done in his career up until 2013 and how he's approaching the end of his run. It's about his karma catching up with him. The verse is the perfect culmination of his entire career and because of that it is ranked highly. I would say Top 3 Verses since his comeback in 2009.
