this seems to suggest tribe has four classics. you think instinctive travels and b/r/l are classics?

Admittedly I grew up on c3 and no ceilings so I have a bias to those along with c4 but I wouldn't label it classic but it is underrated

it probably is. lemons, glu, and lucy ford i guess are the standard top 3, but i think you can't imagine and sad clown bad II are classics as well. gun to my head i'd list them as...
    1. lemons (classic)
    2. you can't' imagine (classic)
    3. god loves ugly (classic)
    4. sad clown bad dub II (classic)
    5. lucy ford (probably not but it's close)

Maybe not Beats Rhymes and Life (I think it's pretty great, that might be an unpopular opinion tho), but definitely People's Instinctive Travels. Neither album is as good as the two between them, but I still hold them both in pretty high regard (my feelings on them are probably similar to how you feel about LR in Kanye's discog)

fair enough. i don't think you're crazy for loving beats rhymes life. in fact, i might even put it third in their catalog.

i don't see how it isn't--by measure of quality and by the criteria that it defined and shifted an era. it's a popular and creative touchstone. without 808s the next ten years of rap and pop sound very different, and there's probably only been one album of its kind that approaches it.

    definitely disagree
imo, it's an amazingly moody, and beautifully crafted album. maybe you're just not in the right place in life to appreciate it

Man I love People's Instinctive Travels, Phife wasn't as polished yet as he was in the upcoming albums they made but it was still a very accessible and clever record. Q-Tip is under appreciated.

Kast, Ghost, Nas, Jay, Kanye by volume have the most. MF Doom has like 2-3 of the top of my head, DJ Quik got Quick Is The Name & Safe + Sound. Rae got 2 plus his features on the Wu-Tang albums.
