I’m glad this album was more divisive than I expected, love seeing yalls takes! Music is just fascinating in the sense that my favorite album ever is a 6.5 to someone else

I'm excited for this round of picks cause I have a feeling it's gonna get weird, feel like most picks first go at it were safe for a lot of people (not a bad thing especially just starting out)

    Travis Scott - Rodeo

    review

The album that introduced me to Travis couple of years ago, still my favorite record of his. The dark, trippy production on this thing goes hard, tons of ear candy on this project. In order to enjoy this, one must come to terms with Travis being an aight rapper who has tons of weird verses, but boy does he create an atmosphere. I prefer the first part of the album; the 7 track run up to ‘Piss On Your Grave’ is absolutely diabolical. Pornography, with its catchy melodies, is a crazy good opener, followed by ‘Oh My Dis Side’ which is one of the most fun trap songs to rap along to IMO. The track ‘3500’ can get a little repetitive but is still deeply enjoyable. ‘Wasted’ fits great with the album’s pacing and creates great moment on the tracklist for my favorite song, ‘90210’: that instrumental switch-up is one of my favorite moments in modern rap in general, alongside that great verse which followed. The rest of the album has so much great stuff on it; that Weeknd feature is butter and the swae lee song is fire as well. Bieber also killed it. The album somehow manages to sound so diverse yet so commited to its core atmosphere, it is great. A few of the cuts felt kind of underdeveloped but I shall not nitpick because the whole thing is, to me atleast, a hallmark of trap and mainstream hip-hop.

Favorites: Pornography, Oh My Dis Side,90210, Pray For Love, Nightcrawler, Antidote, Apple Pie

least favorite: Piss On Your Grave, Ok Alright (i love Schoolboy Q’s verse but cmon Trav)

Imo Utopia was a step up from Astroworld - not to say that album wasn’t good, but the newest one felt better put together.

    8/10

Q is super underrated, Oxymoron, Blank Face, and Blue Lips all go super hard. Man’s rapping is so satisfying.

As I said I'll Tally up Travis Scott Tuesday Night

    @AOTWClub I have chosen

Marilyn Manson- Eat Me, Drink Me

    ab67616d0000b273701413662cb86aea7fd463ad.jpeg

This was my first ever Marilyn Manson album, after hearing it he became one of my favorite artists and I dug deep into his discography. I actually went to his tour for this album, and loved it as well.
This album is a big divide among fans as he's very vulnerable on this record and he hadn't been before. Gonna post a quote Manson said while promoting the album.

This is the record I've worked all my life to get to. You always have to transform, or you can't continue as an artist, and this record has been the biggest transformation for me [...] It's better heard than described [...] On this record I really wanted to sing, and that has to come from a naked, emotional place. It's not a record about me crying, or songs about my woes, but I think this record will probably speak to more people in different ways, because of its total human element [...] If I had to do a record review, I'd say it's got a cannibal, consumption, obsessive, violent-sex, romance angle, but with an upbeat swing to it [...] The album's title [Eat Me, Drink Me] was also inspired by that story several years back of the German man who put out an ad that he wanted to be eaten, and the man who ate him. Although I can't relate to the relationship those two had, I found the story very compelling in a romantic way.

    — Marilyn Manson, Revolver

    Scores:
    Gimp: 7.5/10
    Ripperroo: 6/10
    Yeez: 9/10
    Jankland: 7.7/10
    Wreckless: 7.8/10
    DiggleDogg69: 6/10
    Stepdad enjoyer: 7/10
    Michael Myers: 7/10

    58/80= 7.2

I think that makes it fun though, doubt many of you have listened to My album but I'm excited to hear opinions.
