Jun 28, 2024 Paris Texas - Mid Air Favorite songs: DnD, Sean-Jared,Lift Off, Earth-2,… We fall, ain’t no high least favorite songs: closed caption, bullet man I liked the album overall, had some highlights that caught me off guard cause I can’t stand rock rap most of the time. I replayed a few of the songs a lot last week, the whole things got real repetetive real quick though. For me a project like this goes hard cause it scratches an itch in a way; it hits harder than you would expect it to but it definitely isn’t something I’d pick up daily. Paris Texas sound like they could evolve and eventually drop a great album, they just need to focus cause some of the songs have weak writing and weirdly realized song structures. 6/10
Jun 28, 2024 @AOTWClub Paris Texas - Mid Air This was another new discovery for me thanks to this club. I’d heard about Paris Texas before because I’m a pretty big lana del rey fan, and for some reason I assumed that soundwise they’d be similar to JPEGMAFIA or BROCKHAMPTON (on a sidenote, I actually have gone to Paris, Texas before. Nothing too special aside from an eiffel tower with a cowboy hat on top) I actually really dug this album. Definitely more rock influenced than i expected. I love almost every single instrumental and dear god, these guys are amazing at hooks. The verses were really good too with my favorites being on “Everybody Safe Until” and “Full English”. I’ll definitely check out their debut at some point and I can’t wait to see what they release next. Favorites: tenTHIRTYseven, Sean-Jared, Nüwhip, Everybody Safe Until, Lift Off, Earth-2, Airborne, Full English Rating: 9/10

Not my style but still pretty easy to listen to. 6/10 @AOTWClub I like the diversity among the albums, each one of them was unique but i'm hoping to find one that finally resonates enough to earn a 8+ rating from me. None of them have quite hit that mark yet. But none of them were bad. Well except.. You know the one

Jun 29, 2024 hargydon’s Review of MID AIR Firstly, I feel like MID AIR attempts to encapsulate a sense of disorientation & turbulence. These themes/concepts are at the same time intriguing, & ambitious. So I immediately appreciated the original style attempts, a niche I desperately want to hear more attempts at. Going into this I was curious, as this is the first time I’ve heard of this duo, but after multiple spins of the record, I’m not sure they have a big enough flare as performers or writers to pull this one off, at least yet. I thought the production, blending gritty, distorted guitars with heavy, trap-inspired beats completely overshadowed their capabilities. I actually found their performances quite annoying lol. This was quite a disjointing experience because I tried to like it so bad but it just never happened. Rating: 5/10 @AOTWClub
