    Every roo has its day.

Sorry, @Ripper Roo but I'm about to s--- on your mixtape. You probably already know this is not my kind of music. I generally don't enjoy pop and rnb music.

I really didn't like much of this at all. Even the Kendrick and Denzel songs are like my least favourite of theirs.

I don't like lil peep type artists like Glaive, while Clairo makes music to take a s--- in the bush to. There was like 6 songs combined from these two so it was doomed for me.
This music is what I would expect if I turned on a pop radio station, they would also be suited to be played in a Twilight movie.

The Weeknd song was great, and 6lack was decent.

But, sorry man I just didn't like most of it.

    3.5/10

    Every Roo Has Its Day

I don't have much In depth to say about this other than that it's a quite enjoyable time, there's no songs I disliked!

The Glaive, Kendrick, Clairo, Denzel start was strong for me. I already love the first three songs but I haven't listened to the Denzel deluxe so it was cool to hear a song from him that I'm not extremely familiar with lol

The Roscoe Dash was very goofy I loved it, Juan is great and reminded me I still need to listen to Charm, the 6lack song is one of my favorites on the playlist. I don't listen to 6lack outside of features but I might have to change that.

The Idol sucks but the songs are pretty good so World Class Sinner was nice, Thank The g--- was fun, idr Kissin U but that song is a b-----r from my goat Ms Cosgrove.

Joji is another blind spot but I enjoy most of what I hear and that's no different here, I liked all of Hurry Up Tomorrow so that's a cheat code, even Clairos demos can't miss, and ending on Yung Lean and starting with Glaive felt like a nice little circle of the older emo rap kinda music with the newer.

FAVORITE SONGS: (choosing songs I haven't heard before cause if I chose the ones I do know it'd be like 10 songs long) Got Me Geeked, Sexy Girl Anthem, Juna, Since I Have A Lover, Kissin U, How

    RATING
    8/10

Nice! I tried to put the songs together in a satisfying way and I feel that was one of my best sequences. It’s not Denzel’s usual type of song but I haven’t been able to stop listening.
I can’t even remember how I discovered this song tbh but it has some real charm to me
Speaking of charm, yeah that album is great. I wish the song name was Juan now
Beautiful song, one of my most listened to of the year it came out
Twelve'len is dope, I found out about him through Denzel and have interacted with him before on Twitter
It’s so satisfying to listen to
That’s a nice way to put it
Thanks bro I appreciate it and glad you enjoyed

Review- Every Roo Has Its Day

    @AOTWClub @Ripper Roo

Oh are you bipolar one or two- I actually like this song, never really heard this artist before but he's not too bad at all! 6/10

Count me out- one of my favorite songs off the big steppers album, this is the kind of production i love Kendrick over! 7.5/10

Better- Solid song, not something I'd listen too often but still not something I'd turn off either. 6/10

Got me geeked- I love Denzel, this isn't one of my favorites by him, still like this track but it's kind of repetitive. 6/10

Sexy Girl Anthem- Songs not bad, not really my cup of tea, still don't mind it though 5/10

Every dog has its day- I kinda like this Glaive character, whoever he she or they is 6.5/10

Juna- another song i wouldn't turn off but don't love, clairo has a really nice voice though 5/10.

Since I Have A lover- Don't like this that much, it's okay just kinda boring. 4/10

World Class Sinner- Is this whor- Johnny's daughter? Lol I don't mind this song at all, she has a pretty nice voice. 6/10

Talk Talk- This is what yall were upset that The Death of Slim Shady beat in the aoty poll? Lol 3/10

Thank the g---- this song is weird for me, cause I don't love it but I also don't hate it. I wish it could just not rate it. 5.5/10

Kissing u- how gay are you Ripper? Her voice is good though 4/10

Run- decent song, I feel like im kinda just meh on a lot of these slower songs cause I don't really enjoy a ton of slow songs. 5.5/10

Take Me Back To LA- one of the songs i enjoyed the most off the new album, he's really on point on this. 7/10

How- Clairos voice one again, really great. I'm just slow songed to the max right now. 6/10

Agony- Basically sums up how i felt listening to this song. 3/10

    86/160= 5.4

    Notes:

So I feel like the interesting thing with the playlists is it's showing how different our music tastes are. I appreciate and kind of expected rippers playlist to be like this. Some of it i like and some of it I'm not a big fan of but still appreciate it for what it is.
The slow songs aren't really my thing but I get how others could like them!

You kinda liking glaive is the biggest surprise here. Although his album i care so much that i dont care at all that the first song comes from leans more toward rock so you’d probably like that more.
Really powerful song to me that gives me hope and I relate to
That’s understandable. It’s that strip club type of song that doesn’t fit all situations. But as the theme of these mixtapes is our favorite songs, this is honestly one of my favorite songs of his. I haven’t been able to stop listening since it came out and something about it also gives me a nostalgic feeling
Yes lol she’s also been my profile pic for like a month. I don’t have “guilty pleasure” songs, but this is about as close to guilty pleasure as it gets for me
Lol I can’t explain why I make music like this. But yeah I realize it makes me look very gay. I’m straight but I do sometimes have the music taste of a gay person
So glad this song came out, I’ve been waiting for it since it was teased in 2020 and was hoping it would come out in time for me to put it on this mixtape. That’s how it’s one of my favorites even though it just came out, I basically heard the initial version years ago.
Yeah I really like slow and vibey songs a lot. I’ll have to switch it up next mixtape. 5.4 isn’t a bad score though, thanks for listening!

Excited to see what other people think of my playlist but as a representation of what music I like (outside of a few major omissions to some genres that I'm saving for later) I think I cooked

    Every Roo Has It's Day

Okay, listened a few times now.
It's funny @Ripper Roo some music opinions we are the exact opposite, and sometimes we are on exactly the same page lmao. This tape, for the most part, leans more towards the latter, thankfully! Curious how u guys feel about my tape that has lots of songs I never really posted here as ones I like.

Oh are you bipolar one or 2 - this isn't necessarily my type of music but I have to say its decent. It gets a bit whiny at times (but thats kinda the point I guess) but especially when the 'beat' drops I kinda like it - 6.5/10

Count Me Out - Mr Morale is one of my least favorite Kendrick albums, but this song is one of the exceptions. His rapping is great and especially when the beat finally drops it's slapsss 8/10

Better - summer vibes all over. Clairo has a nice smooth voice that really fits this funky beat. Perfect for the warmer comes which are yet to come! Added to my playlist. 8.5/10

Got me geeked: it has been years since I listened to Denzel. The combination of rapping and singing makes this really catchy. s--- gets stuck in my head, in a good way! Also very fun beat. 8/10

Everdog has its day - yeah this is a bit too loud for me. It's far from bad and I think Glaive is good here but the beat just isn't for me I guess. 6/10

Juna - again her voice fits this relaxing beat perfectly, but I don't know this is not what I would go back to a lot. More because of the beat though. Still , not a bad song by any means. 6/10

Since I have a lover - d---, this was a pleasant surprise lmao. I think I heard like 2 songs of 6clack and a few features maybe so went in w zero expectations. But this was so catchy, love this. 8.5/10

World class sinner - I'm biased here since I had this on repeat last year. Her voice is so sexy, just like her body obviously. It's like a parody song but this has been in my head all summer 9/10

Talk Talk - I love Charli , and this song is really dope but its not my favorite of her. This only means I don't give it higher than a 7.5/10 though

Thank the g--- - never heard of this guy but its pretty decent. It's a bit too dramatic/loud for me though, especially the hook. Verses are really dope though and the beat is so chill I like it. 7/10

Kissin you - I can definitely appreciate some teenage girl music once in a while, so this iCarly song is a fun addition to the tape. It is a little too much teenage for me maybe, but its catchy and didn't know she made music so thanks for adding! 7/10

Run - never heard of joji. Dude has a really intense voice, again thanks for introducing me. This song is just really good. 8/10

Take me back to LA - one of the best songs on HUT, and the Weeknd style I love the most (similar to Blinding Lights) 9/10

How - I want to like this, but I can't really enjoy this one. But its also short and harmess, and like I said earlier her voice is good. 6/10

Agony - the only song on here I really don't like. I find it really boring, constantly waiting for something that never happens. Lyrics aren't bad but I can't enjoy this. 4/10

Average rating = 7,3 but mostly because of that last song. As a tape w lots of different sounds and new s--- I'm gonna give this an 8/10

I think it’s mostly in rap where we disagree, particularly when it comes to Playboi Carti but when it comes to other genres like pop we usually have pretty similar taste
I feel the same way about the summer vibes too which makes it s--- that it’s winter right now because I’d rather be out driving with the windows down listening to this song. The music video has cool vibes as well:

Agreed, but d--- bro it’s been years? I think you are missing out. This song comes from his 2024 album King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2 where he incorporates more southern rap type sounds like three six mafia. I think you might like it although it has a lot of features which are hit or miss
    That melody is so nice!
I wish she would make more music but I doubt it
No problem, Joji is one of my favorite singers. The fact that most people so far seem to like or not mind Joji lets me know I could choose one of his albums in the future if I wanted to and not have the group dread it
Thanks for listening bro glad you like it

@Ripper Roo - Every Roo Has Its Day

    review

Before I start going track by track I’ll say that I found this mixtape very cohesive and pleasing to the ears; although not the most prevalent thing about these songs throughout, there is a feeling of mellowness a ton of the tracks on here bring (with the exception of the glaive songs of course). The mix is well put together, the tracks flowed nicely and the tape most definitely achieved a really cool subdued, yet powerful, atmosphere.

Strong opener with the Glaive track, I enjoyed it. Luckily I have trained my ears with a decade of Bright Eyes fanship and conditioned, or better yet, stockholm syndrome’d myself into fiending for tracks some people may find squealy or whiny. Great vocal performance here.

The kendrick song is fire, reminded me just how good MM&TBS is; will have to take my ears off of
GNX and bump it some more. Crazy how dense with lyricism and emotion this song and the album are.

The Clairo track was really cool too. I like her s--- but sometimes I get bored with her slower music, this is a nice change of pace. Very catchy with superb production.

Never heard this Denzel track but I enjoyed it a lot, love to hear more of his ‘fun’ music which isn’t as packed with technical stuff. The catchy chorus in combination with the wavy beat grabbed me immediately.

Sexy girl anthem was an okay song but not something I could listen to very often, I imagine it’d become grating.

The second Glaive track was cool. I liked the beat a lot. First time listening to this guy and the energy he brings is formidable. I prefer the first song but this one was pretty good too.

Juna was okay but honestly I prefered the material from both Charm and Immunity more; so this song was just fine and did a good job of keeping the vibes of the mixtape going.

6Lack track was better than the things I heard from him before, still though, I find myself kind of bored with his music.

World class sinner/ I’m a freak was very fun. Surprised by how good of a singer she is. This is some kinky/ horny s--- but I ain’t mad. Appreciate the absurd britpop feel of the production too, lmao.

Honestly liked the original of this Charli song a lot more than the remix, still fun but not as good as the album version, IMO.

O s--- it’s the guy featured on Imperial and TA1300. This was my introduction to his music but I liked his parts on the Denzel songs a lot - Black Balloons is a generational classic. Very good track from him, will have to check more of his s--- out, this was a real ear worm.

Haven’t heard a word from Miranda since the iCarly intro song lmao, not mad at this at all. Sometimes you just gotta bump some traditional, cheesy and feel-good pop music. Had fun with this lol.

Yes yes yes!!! Joji!! Been following this guy since the FF days lmao, first heard his music back in 2017 and loved the songs Demons and Will He. Lately he’s become kind of inconsistent imo but he always has atleast one classic single, in this case that is Run. Gorgeous track, the guitar solo just floats my boat jesus it gets me hard with the reverb’d vocals layered in the back of it. Sick song, great listening to it again. Also had a great music video.

Haven’t checked out the new Weeknd album yet somehow. This song got me hyped to listen, though. Very good - it is crazy how consistent this guy is for someone of his caliber.

The third Clairo song was sweet but you can definitely tell it is a demo. Needs a bit of a polish to be great. For how barebones the instrumental is I really like it.

There is something about these scandinavian guys who do music and their voices. The accent makes them sound like me when I wake up after a nighout where I smoked 40 cigarettes and drank 3 litres of white wine. Not hating on that, though - my mixtape has a song from this Danish band on it where the guy sounds hella unwell. Back to Lean: I like this song as a closer but think it went on for a bit too long. I get that him not having that much range in his voice is the appeal to many, but it gets a bit grueling after a minute or two for me.

    7.5/10

You assembled a very interesting and fun mixtape, man. cheers !
