It's not a bad song and to me it's even somewhat enjoyable. In fact, if it had been mixed by somebody like Dre(or anybody who knows how to f---ing mix a song) and that God awful bridge was scrapped or better yet done by Eminem himself I'd say that this is even really good for Eminem in 2015. Objectively this isn't a good song, at all, but as a longtime fan of Eminem I can appreciate something like this in 2015, especially after reaching the lowest of lows during the MMLP2 era. It's really pretty sad and pathetic that he has set the bar so low that if there is no toilet talk/punchlines then more often than not I'll walk away pleasantly surprised from an Eminem song.

TLDR

Not a bad song. If it was mixed better and that terrible bridge was gone it'd have been MUCH better.
Light years better than anything from MMLP2 but still a tier below GOF and Fine Line. I expect some decent stuff on the soundtrack.

his flow, while not always all the way there seemed more fluid on a majority of the songs on mmlp2 versus everything he's done since.

obviously haven't forgotten about any of those cringe moments

Groundhog Day, brainless, evil twin, legacy, don't front all better songs than phenomenal

You take random lines from the record out of context and pretend they are awful, ofc the album got bad moments but they are not as bad as the way you are putting them in the table

I think part of it is that I've outgrown rap. I also think the genre(commercial rap) has really gone to s---. For the most part I will try and listen to new music from artists that I grew up listening to but even then there are rappers like The Game, T.I. and Lil Wayne(all who I Stanned at one point) that I don't even bother listening to their new music.

The only albums from relatively new artists I've checked out lately were Big Sean's and Kendricks. I thought some of Big Sean's was pretty good and I thought TPAB was a corny snooze fest. I don't know.... it's sad but if it's not Kanye,Jay-Z, 50 Cent or Eminem I don't really give a s--- anymore. As far as being interested in Eminem I don't know how you couldn't be if you were a fan of his during his prime. When I was in middle school/high school that guy was on his way to being the undisputed GOAT and well now we all know what he is lol. I don't think anybody in any profession has fallen off like he has so whether his music is awful or surprisingly decent it's still fun to discuss for me. It's like a train wreck it's pretty horrific but you can't turn away from it. I mean, I can't at least.

Fair enough. I see where you're coming from but given how his career trajectory has played out he's become an artist who is really difficult to judge fairly- for me at least. "Objectively speaking this isn't a good song at all" wasn't exactly accurate on my part. If I compare it with the rest of his discography it would fall somewhere between average-good. However, as a stand alone song from 2015 Eminem I think it's great(But obviously not the same tier as songs he made that I would label "great" from 99-03) I don't know, like I said he's tough to judge fairly. As far as "set the bar so low" that's just me throwing a shot at the idiots around here who think MMLP2 is his best album. Nothing more, nothing less. I have zero problem admitting when and then applauding him when he does something right. I've been really outspoken about how much I appreciated most of his work on Shady XV and I will continue to do so with this song.

Edit- I can admit my criticisms are often over the top but I don't think they're unwarranted. This was the most talented guy in the world at one point and to see him just kind of piss away(for the most part) the last 75% of his career has been infuriating to watch.

Quote me some cringe-worthy lines from Talking 2 Myself, GTC, Space Bound or Seduction. Those are the only songs from that album that I've ever claimed were great. I'll wait you little beta fa----.
