Filipinos don't have very thick accents when they speak English from what I can tell

Didn't say it was profound, bruh

Just saying it's weird. Most people don't adopt accents from TV or from living in a country a few years

Like imagine a guy from Texas sounding upper-class English asf. You wouldn't find that weird? 'well he just likes Harry Potter breh'

Wasnt there a problem with US kids developing British accents from Peppa pig? It's not unheard of

My friend who moved from the Pacific Northwest to Alabama developed a southern twang in a few years and another friend who moved from PA to Ireland also developed a bit of an Irish accent. Both of them revert back sometimes when visiting home, it's just subconscious socialization into a new culture. Doesn't happen to everyone and it depends on the accents involved but it's not uncommon or weird at all tbh

also English/southern American actors routinely play roles with the other accent because many find it easy to switch. the southern American accent developed from British English after all.

It's very common to pick up an accent from media when learning English, and watching film/tv is how many people learn. Kid no doubt grew up watching US TV like everyone else does.
