    Dumbest girl alive is hard as a mfer, but the project as a whole isn't that great.


    Aside from DGA I enjoyed 2 other tracks. So 3 tracks out of 10 isn't too bad I suppose.

    they waited way too long and it just feels like they lost the groove, i question if the chemistry is there because i really wonder why they would drop that then make a remix album (it was fire tho) then ghost for 5 years

    it could also be like 3 stacks who was nervous to release again..i think they definitely set the bar magnificently high with 1000 gecs

    i like dga, mememe, hollywood baby & billy knows jamie before outro (f--- that outro)

    Almost 4 years since their last album and going through some label issues only allowing the duo to only perform a lot of new material from this project in live shows Hyperpop legends are finally releasing a new album!

    Even if their first couple singles aren't my favorite of theirs (mememe grew on me a bit) the release of their last EP and Hollywood baby still keeps me excited for this release!

    AOTY. I've had it on repeat for weeks. Dumbest Girl Alive and Hollywood Baby are great. My 3yo son loves Frog on the Floor.

    I hadn't heard of 100 gecs prior to a random tweet I saw and I've been on a music slump lately so I figured f--- it, and went in blind.

    This is why you need a resident hyperpop/general weird s--- connoisseur like myself here, the conversion therapy is already working.
    It's strange cause I feel like I'd usually not be a fan of that s--- in other genres but the goofy lines and irony works here for me.

    gave it a couple listens at time of my post. tbh, I'm surprised it's getting love on the board since it's a far reach from the typical genre following, but I personally enjoyed most of it. It lost me on tracks with goofy/adolescent themes like Frog On The Floor & I Got My Tooth Removed, but otherwise it was nice.

    But gecs can attract hoes, they'll just be the chaotic ones.

    tbh I don't feel like this one is much less genre-melding than the last (if at all). but I get why one wouldn't be into either album, they're experimental and uncompromising in their vision by nature.

    I'd pretty much always rather have an artist make something different than try to recreate their last album

    Thinking about it more I understand why people might be disappointed at this release even if it wasn't their fault it did take like 4 years and if people wanted more wild variations in music like their last album I can see not liking the fact that they made a bit more tight of a Ska/Pop Punk sound with obvious inspiration from stuff like Ween and Beck.

    To me this sounds like a natural evolution of the s--- they liked doing and making it slightly more palatable, with this on top of their Snake Eyes EP being great they can kinda go whatever direction they want with their next album, it's nice to have a group where you can expect a certain abrasiveness while not knowing what the next sound will be.

    I've realized I'm thinking too much about the artistic integrity of a band named after ordering too many geckos online lmao
