Jun 4, 2022 Without the info that most people didn't know, he had nothing but a meh diss track. That's what made it interesting and a good diss.
Jun 4, 2022 Views is nice, but then he dropped a better project with More Life imo. Views has the biggest songs though.
Jun 4, 2022 Meek bringing the ghostwriting accusations with receipts did way more damage to Drake’s career and legacy than this
Jun 4, 2022 If you’re going by Drake’s core fanbase then they definitely don’t care that he was saving the reveal of his son for a shoe campaign either lol
Jun 4, 2022 Exactly, the core fanbase is irrelevant. But the Adidas deal ending, statements being released, J. Prince intervening, those are real consequences from Pusha’s diss. Not career ending because no one can really end Drake’s career at this point but it left a mark.
Jun 5, 2022 I didn’t bring up his core fan base. He has had to respond to the ghostwriting allegations numerous times in the rare interviews he does and it actually continues to follow him everywhere. Even if it didn’t do any real damage to his stature it is still something that clings to him everywhere. If anyone on any podcast or show anywhere, or backyard debate is talking about top rappers and his name comes up, the ghostwriting accusations come up. Him wearing blackface or hiding his son for a shoe campaign is not coming up anywhere outside of discussion of this song.
Jun 5, 2022 Savage diss. Good times. Beef rarely ends a career, but a good diss will haunt them forever. The most scathing jabs in this strike at Drake's 'blackness' imo. That's the stuff that really appeared to hurt, the s--- that Drake often seems sensitive to, compounded by the cover and the beat selection. The hidden child aspect was perfect clickbait to make this the highest profile L of Drake's career.
