Oh f---, Letter to my Son is beautiful. I can relate to this so much.
Everything. "I want to hug you but I want to bite you". I love my son with all my heart but sometimes I want to strangle him!
"Taught you enough to not use drugs". Leading by example and not being afraid to have tough conversations with him is the best way I know how to raise him. I'd rather he hear about the world from me before witnessing it himself with nothing to relate it to.
This song is heart wrenching.
Just think of the family he left behind who love him as a father. We'll never know the pain they are in. We hurt as fans, but that doesn't compare to their pain.
RIP X and I wish strength and resilience for your family. -

According to Swizz, DMX embraced his age and knew he didn't have it like he used to. And during the recording of this album X mentionned retirement several times and said this would be his last body of work. That he was tired.
I'm glad DMX found that spark and motivation to deliver one last piece of work before he passed.Last edited: May 28, 2021JohnMarston02, Ordinary Joel, BIGFOOT and 6 others like this. -

Not finished yet but this is way better than I was expecting so far. Except for the jay z song sounds like it was recorded with a cardboard toilet paper roll. Nas was the highlight on that song for meOrdinary Joel, asvdawg, J630 and 4 others like this. -

Might sound weird but I feel like if x would've came out and absolutely destroyed this album with bangers and an album up to par with the first 5 it wouldnt have been as touching as this was. X came off very vulnerable on this if that makes sense as if he gave it his all but you could tell he wasn't what he was. Verses at times felt like they were 30 seconds long lyrically wasn't that great at times but some how still managed to put out something good all mixed in with the fact that he's no longer here. Not really sure if I described what I'm trying to say so good but it's a very humbling album. Reminds me of bill burr when he said "you see your football hero's limp out to the field one more time and it reminds you of your own mortality"DJW, J630, lil uzi vert stan and 4 others like this. -

I read somewhere that Jay z used to put people to sleep after DMX performance and he used to mess with red and mef mics so they can't put out a better show them him.Ordinary Joel, lil uzi vert stan, Rodamon and 3 others like this. -

There's a funny quote about DMX from a book called Queens Reigns Supreme: Fat Cat, 50 Cent, and the Rise of the Hip-Hop Hustler that I'd been wanting to post for awhile but I no longer have a copy of it. I just found a picture of the passage on my phone:
