this is truly one of the greatest rap albums of all time in my opinion. When clipse gets brought up I feel like it’s normally in the context of grindin but anyone who listened to this album could clearly see this is their opus. To some of the best Neptune’s beats of all time, to amazing verses from push and malice, to overall feeling it is truly a classic. Let’s show our respects. Found a copy at the record store the other day and I did full soy face. Instant cop.
funny thing to note is that this album directly pipelines to us finding out drake had a hidden blonde haired child with a pornstar mother 12 years later. I love this s---
Any more examples of albums like this? Classics that don’t get spoken of enough?

this is an interesting thought though, what are the 2000's classics that don't seem to get brought up the classic conversation any more?
imo:
First 2 Clipse albums
Ghostface Killah - Fishscale
Jeezy - TM101
T.I. - could take your pick between Trap Muzik, Urban Legend or King
Cam'ron - Purple Haze
plenty others I'm sure i'm forgettingMichaelsMad, DKC, Ordinary Joel and 5 others like this. -

I think HHNF is quite widely hailed as a classic. Lord Willin too. Its the same for a lot of 2000s classics that people have forgotten, I guess because they're not as recent as 10's classics or have had as much time to settle as 90s classics.RetiredAccount, Ordinary Joel, Ricky and 3 others like this. -

I'd go as far to say that all of X's albums from 1998- 2006 might be one of the most underrated discographies in hip hop -

Mos Def's "The New Danger" is rarely talked about but I think it's great. The ecstatic is more well known and and amazing album by it's own right. The only album of his that really missed was true magicOrdinary Joel, quadrasaurus, Ricky and 2 others like this. -

And Then There Was X. Idk but people tend to not mention DMX in the classic albums discussion. Actually his previous 2 albums are also classics.

That bone thugs album is a big one. It’s so f---ing good. I wasn’t alive at the time, but to my understanding both the group and this album were f---ing huge so it’s surprising it doesn’t get brought up more often. Got a little bit of praise from purpp and his run off but still not as much as it should. I think I owe it a relistenRetiredAccount, Ordinary Joel, rapmusik and 1 other person like this. -
