The fall from grace was just intense.

I know everyone disses Eminem for falling off, but DMX fell off with life...

He literally looks like your average crack head on the corner...

As far as in his prime? I didn't feel like DMX was a great lyricist, but man he made great music.

I loved his first 4 albums. He was extremely popular in the late 90's and early 00's.

I think Eminem stole a ton of his thunder though, but pre-Eminem, DMX was at the top of the game, EASILY.

Eminem might not be the rapper he was, and might be awkward, but at least he's sober, rich and doing well for himself.

    DMX is an absolute mess...

Nah I remember those times vividly and I'd say him and Jay-z were equally popular. When I was like 7th grade(98) "Can I Get A...." was ALL OVER the place. Then in December of 1999 I can remember when And Then There Was X and Volume 3 dropping like a week apart. Lol I remember having my parents pick those albums up for me while I was at school. Man I miss those days.

    I'd say he took a W

Pac wouldn't be half as famous and well-received as he is today of he hadn't died.

    Same with Big.

Case in point: Everyone and their grandmother knows Tupac. How many know Rakim?

I don't see how DMX is not everyone's answer.

He's literally the ONLY choice that makes sense.

    Canibus was never ON.

Mase was very popular, but he went into something he liked doing, and he's doing well for himself.

No one anyone lists will have had the star power or success that DMX had in his prime. There's no way.

DMX was Eminem before Eminem came along.

DMX was on EVERYTHING. Any popular hip hop album at the time had a DMX feature on it.

I don't care who you name off... From 97-99, DMX was hands down the most popular rapper.

2000-03, he wasn't AS popular as Eminem, but still was dropping number 1 albums, and was still popular.

NO ONE IN RAP has fallen off as hard as DMX. NOBODY.

    He legit had it all.

5 number 1 platinum records, respect, Ruff Ryders Label (respected too, with Swizz Beats, LOX and Eve), and starred in movies...

Now he's a crack head bum who is ALWAYS getting arrested. He has a networth of NEGATIVE 10 MILLION lol.

He goes beyond falling off music-wise.
