Ngl, s--- made me feel some type of way, especially because I have so many good memories related with 2014, s---. Your homie Logan just KILLED that song. It's just weird coincidence that it has that nostalgic vibe and lyrics are soooo on point. Also scratches at the end, it's so good to hear scratches in Hip-Hop song in 2020! Everybody busy, I'm dizzy inside my mind. I'm living like my prime was left way behind. s---, these 2 bars got me. Last time I performed on stage was in 2014, so these bars are so powerful d---. Jul 22, 2020 d---, man that’s so f---ing dope to hear! It’s crazy how music can take you back to places before, even if you’ve never heard the song before. It’s kinda beautiful, isn’t it? I’m gonna tell Logan about the Gambino comparison and he’ll lose his s--- lmao he loves Gambino. It’s funny, originally we were gonna send the song out to our friends cousin, who’s a singer herself, because Logan didn’t know if he could sing the hook. So we carved out room for a third verse because we felt awkward just asking her to sing his lyrics, so we were gonna tell her she could write her own verse as well. Then I was messing around one night and put the scratches on that verse space instead, Logan loved it, and said screw it let’s just drop it. I’m happy because I feel it’s more personal with him singing on the hook. but yea man, I just feel this song is so relatable, and people can place their own personal experiences throughout to different lyrics. You gotta get back on that stage once COVID is over! SOTY?!?! d--- bro that made my whole year! Thanks that’s the coolest thing I’ve ever heard about my (our) music! And he’ll yea! Jul 22, 2020 Music is just synonym of word "magic" and it's a fact. Funny how vibe of the song or some bars can spark that nostalgia in peoples mind. I just hit the play button and whew, I said "Okay, it's Kanye vibes" because of vox samples in the background, but your homie singing that hook turned my mind into "Ooooh that's Donald" and s---, I'm just bumping this again and again, really, this is the best song I've heard this year. I gotta say, you're expert at making simple beats hits. Just 2 layered melodies, vox, drum pattern, bass, some synths and here we are. Lately I've been thinking a lot, maybe I don't wanna grow up... I'm so happy you decided to mess with the scratches, cause it fits perfect. Scratches are thing of past and song itself speaks about past, amazing. Jul 22, 2020 That’s why I think I gravitate towards music so much tbh, and it’s dope having a community of people on here that feel the exact same. Its funny, a lot of the time I’m messing around with the beats, I think like “d---, this needs something else.” And I’ll mess around with it for hours, only for it to result in nothing. Then Logan hops on, and it turns out all it was missing was an artists vocals. I think it’s important not to get lost in trying to make the craziest melody, or the craziest drum patterns because a lot of the time only people like us notice those things anyway lol. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of other times doing insane stuff music wise is f---ing dope. It’s just a give and take kind of thing! Logans lyrics on this one are so relatable. I made the beat and we were just messing around coming up with ideas or whatever and the thought of “yesterday” kept popping up in my head, so I told Logan and he nailed the concept. thanks again for running this back and all the love let me see what I can do for you!
