Mar 15, 2020 I'd like to ask someone rationale about this. I live in the most densely populated state in the country and I'm not worried about getting this. What does shutting down bars and restaurants do? I understand, you eliminate large crowds for the time being but this virus isn't going anywhere
Mar 15, 2020 I think the idea is to slow the spread as much as possible cuz if everyone gets it at once it will overload the hospitals and cause way more people to die + people with other more serious ailments will get less intensive care because some hysteric 25 year old goes to the hospital with a 99 degree fever. And a slower spread also gives us more time to implement mass testing and such which will further help curb the rate and increase recovery.
Mar 16, 2020 Really hoping lockdown doesn’t happen. I was supposed to have ligament repair surgery in my shoulder soon. I understand the need to take these precautions, but I really don’t want to deal with my shoulder randomly popping out of place for another month or two.
Mar 16, 2020 This. They are also trying to 'stall' the virus to get to the summer , hoping it slows down / goes away. So they have time to prepare hospitals etc and trying to get a proper medicine when it maybe returns/gets worse again after summer. Seeing the situation in China get better (if its actual true) gives me a little hope though. That is if selfish MFers follow up the rules and not being stubborn... Also heard yesterday my grandma has a cold and a little trouble breathing. Nobody can visit her and food needs to be put at her door. She's old so it can just be nothing but f---..

Mar 16, 2020 This is exactly the problem and reason they close down many facilities / bars etc. People feeling sick should stay at home but lot of people feel fine so they go to work and going out.. which is not a problem for fhem but for the people that get infected and might infect weaker people / infections on a large scale.

Mar 16, 2020 Tbph, I would kinda rather voluntarily get the virus now, self-quarantine for 2 weeks, and then not have to worry about being a carrier/vector thereafter.
