Jan 27, 2019 Dali was a Franco supporter, even though Franco was a mass murderer and banned Catalan language and culture, and Dali himself was Catalan.. nowadays he is admired in the whole planet. Does it bother me? yes. Do I understand that people somehow still like his art? I guess. Mixed feelings. Dali, like Kanye more or less, most probably saw politics as an excuse to be extravagant, and praised the human figure of Franco more than the actual things he was doing, even though those were terrible. Sounds familiar right?
