Sep 7, 2018 His verses on Kids See Ghost prove to me he can still write when he spends time on an album (Cudi said the B*** of it was done over 18 months), but yeah, he can't "score 40 in the 4th quarter" like he used to be able to. When he writes these freestyle verses they're garbage. It works on a song like this but it really hurt his album. He's not Thug or Wayne, he can't just go in and spit off the dome like that. I was listening to an episode of Joe Budden's podcast yesterday and he theorized that on the five GOOD albums he would be in the 11th hour trying to finish the album and there would be spots that needed verses and since it's not like he could fly someone in to finish it that quick he'd just be like "word a verse needs to go here" and record a s-----y freestyle verse real quick and call it good.

Sep 7, 2018 I can see where you’re coming from. Kids See Ghosts was excellent but I also think it relies on its superb production very heavily. I can’t agree more about the laziness of his verses in recent times. He needs to spend more time and this is coming from someone who LOVES TLOP. Underrated imo.
