Jun 17, 2018 At the end of the day, I think it's a pretty typical eminem response to something he doesn't like that's consistent to his lyrics about women and politics in general. I don't think you could call someone who still makes songs like that a "2018 liberal" or "SJW" or "PC culture enforcer" or whatever you wanna call it. The only way he's changed in that regard is stopping his homophobic lyrics, which to me is really just him catching up to the rest of hip-hop culture. Most rappers who used to have homophobic lyrics stopped d--- near a decade ago. For the record I think it's a pretty dumb/immature lyric, but it has nothing to do with who it is. I'm just not really tryina listen to 45 year olds rap about stuffing women in trunks no matter who they are or whether or not they have a relation to politics.
Jun 17, 2018 kinda OT but I rly feel like anti-sjws spend more time getting offended over mundane s--- than actual sjws do
Jun 17, 2018 100%, outrage culture (note I am not saying "PC culture") knows no political bounds. People on the other side get offended by s--- like football players not standing for the national anthem or someone saying "black lives matter" or talking s--- about cops.
Jun 17, 2018 I mean its somewhat valid. Eminem has always been liberal but he has NEVER towed the party line like he has recently. Hes coincided with a lot of recent talking points in a way that doesnt feel even slightly genuine (unlike 2001-2006 Eminem). The nra verse add on is a great example of this, it sounds very forced and pandering. There are 100 better ways to dismantle trump than the very shallow stereotypical liberal talkpoints (racist, sexist, islamophobic) but eminem only grasps at the lowest hanging fruit. Something that I do not think the old Em would have done. Theres nothing wrong with being anti-nra and gun ownership but you should tread carefully when you have a prior felony of assault with one.
Jun 17, 2018 the difference is bush didn’t have a cult of personality causing everyone to dismiss all his faults as “shallow talking points”
Jun 17, 2018 What about Bush-era songs like mosh, we as americans, etc? Also how are racism, sexism, and islamaphobia shallow talking points? Or are you saying those are the better points he should have talked about?
Jun 17, 2018 How can u say racism and sexism are shallow topics not worth addressing with a straight face when ur arguing about eminem putting a press statement up at a concert
Jun 17, 2018 not true ur just buying into the dumb image of liberals u see on social media, every f---in liberal thinks they’re the one smart liberal and everyone else is a crazy sjw
Jun 17, 2018 anyways I refuse to spend my Sunday afternoon debating liberalism in f---ing eminem sxn peace boys
