Sep 25, 2017 The original with Royce was way better. Em and Jay can't make a renegade 2 because technically, they didn't create the original song/vibe together. So really, they just need to get on a track together and create the whole thing from scratch. Not create renegade 2. Having said that, Jay Z is one of the dopest lyricists of all time. Anyone who says otherwise isn't paying attention. Edit: s---, look no further than 4:44. Dude is pushing 50 years old and just f----- up the game this summer with pure, raw lyrics and emotion. One more edit: Gun to my head I'm picking Em as greatest pure technical lyricist of all mainstream artists. But that doesn't mean Jay-Z isn't in the conversation or that Biggie isn't the greatest rapper of all time.
Sep 25, 2017 Somebody needs to tell Eminem this. He can rhyme words as good as anybody but he couldn't make good music if his life depended on it.
Sep 25, 2017 "He doesn't get nearly enough appreciation for how special he is as a writer and deliverer of words, full stop. I see 100 Jay-Z albums in the top whatever, all the time, and over-praise for very basic s---, whereas for the most part... Em gets the short-end of the stick, usually because he's white and the hype surrounding him. A lot of these things are written by white writers, and white rap fans are obsessed / paranoid with looking like they're not obsessed with Eminem or thinking he's the greatest, so some go out of their way to downgrade him." @EminemBase Highlights your blatant biases and ignorance against Jay Z's music as well as your fanboyism of Eminem. "I see 100 Jay-Z albums in the top whatever, all the time, and over-praise for very basic s---, whereas for the most part... Em gets the short-end of the stick" Doesn't matter how intelligent you try to sound or how long your post is when you say s--- like this.
Sep 25, 2017 Like have you even listened to any Jay albums when you say something like that...and why does s--- have to be complex to justify praise? Eminem's new s--- is complex as h--- yet the music is awful.
Sep 25, 2017 Do u understand how music ur favorite or not changes over time..s----s dope , Some people may not get into the humor of the lead singles which are just to bring in people to listen , and a couple songs on SSLP. Or are u 1 of those new Em fans who think Recovery is 1 of his best albums.
Sep 25, 2017 Lyrically, he's good. His problem nowadays is his terrible cadence, leading to his god-awful flow, which is due to him writing his lyrics then trying to fit them into the beat rather than writing them to the beat normally. He doesn't get to focus on his delivery or flow. He's still a good rapper, just a really bad musician. You can be a great rapper and make bad music, just as much as you can be a terrible rapper and make amazing music. He has fallen off in both senses, though.
Sep 25, 2017 If lets say Encore was dropped by a new rapper, alot of people would have liked it...Its impossible for any rapper to have all dope tracks. Eminem has a complete catalog, Plus his less popular music , is picked apart bc of the ridiculous standard he's set.
Sep 25, 2017 100%. This is a perfect explanation of why his current highs are so high but his lows are f---ing atrocious. When it all clicks and fits into place, he smashes it out the park. But when any 1 piece of the song doesn't magically fit, the whole thing crumbles like a house of cards. He's forcing too much s--- these days. And his subject matter has all but dried up.
Sep 25, 2017 But your a stan you even picked up some of Eminem's phrases too in your posts with the wigger phrases like s--- & ill.
Sep 25, 2017 If he wants to rap about rapping, which is cliche in itself, I'm fine with it - as long as he executes it well. He has his moments on MMLP2 where he just pulls it off nicely enough to make me not mind how absurdly stereotypical it is to rap about how good you are at rapping. The problem is that he needs to show us he's rhyming multi syllabically, so he stresses the syllables awkwardly. Survival's third verse shows just how far he's willing to go to show that he can rhyme to people who aren't dissecting his rhymes incessantly, because you know... he has to prove this to us. So, pull out your pliers and your screw-dri-VUHS But I want you to doubt me, I don't want you to BUH-lieve ‘Cause this is somethin' that I MUST use to SUC-ceed Not just that, but he seems to believe he has to rap in a lower note and doesn't really exercise his vocal range for this. He tries to rap as a baritone.
Sep 25, 2017 Spot on man. All I really want from his new project is a cohesive sound and vibe with as few forced rhymes as possible. The forcing of rhymes is really killing the replay-ability for a lot of his new music. That and his voice. The yelling era was pretty annoying but his new talk rapping concerns me even more. It could be dope if executed correctly but if not, it's gonna sound terrible. I don't think we're gonna ever hear a smooth sounding Em on a track again. Did you happen to watch any of his recent shows from last month? His voice sounds f-----. It's very deep and coarse. It sounds like his voice will never be the same.
Sep 25, 2017 i would be really embarrassed to listen to Eminem in public, especially his Relapse & Encore albums.
Sep 25, 2017 These shows don't seem like a good reference to go by since he had a cold and it's hard to sound good when rapping aggressive songs like his live. But his voice has definitely been damaged over the years. He doesn't use healthy technique - something that doesn't seem widespread in rap music overall. Kendrick doesn't appear to vocalize healthily either. There are singers who can still sound young past their 50s, 60s simply because they've always used healthy technique. Eminem tries to rap in the second octave when his healthy range is in the third octave - which is fine to do, as long as you healthily expand your vocal range through exercises. But he doesn't do that. He always sounds like he has a morning voice, and considering he seems fond of having a powerful voice nowadays, I wouldn't doubt he records in the morning. In that case, little does he know that's a vocalist's worst voice. There's a reason singers avoid recording in the morning and apologize for their voice whenever they do. I just hope he realizes rap is an artform and that he no longer needs to make a mixtape to show off how many skills he has in his hands. It's not that I want him to stop using his skills, but I want him to use them for a purpose that isn't just showing them off.
Sep 25, 2017 Evil Deeds, Never Enough, Yellow Brick Road, Rain Man, Puke, Crazy in Love, Spend Some Time, Encore Even My First Single gets an honerable mention. Encore is a lot better than MMLP2
Sep 25, 2017 the only albums i'd listen to in public would be The Eminem Show or Marshall Mathers LP. same with The Re-Up Mixtape and his DJ Green Lantern Mixtape he made dissing Ja Rule.
