Sep 5, 2017 ya i dont think its possible for a drake or a kendrick album to come and go like that rly even tho i dont like d--- its probably easily the most impactful album oty d--- thats crazy i thought pretty girls did pretty well i dont hear it out very much but s----s still fresh & in rotation for me
Sep 5, 2017 sadly id agree, im a stan but that album was w.e to me i remember 2chainz dropped around the same time and that held up so much better for me personally
Sep 5, 2017 I love PGLTM too and still bump it but that's one I never hear anyone else play aside from good drank and occasionally it's a vibe like @George Costanza mentioned
Sep 5, 2017 I hope we all understand we dictate our own way of digesting music. Some people look forward to that next project every week, some can still sit with an album or two and it last them a long time. I feel like I'm a mixture of both. I listen to all the new releases, but the music that really resonates with you won't fade away. With all that being said, some albums that come to mind for me that came and went was Kodak Black's Painting Pictures and the Gorillaz album, Thug's album, Vic Mensa album, and the Yo Gotti x Mike Will-Made It project.
Sep 5, 2017 I genuinely love the album and still listen to it heaps but he literally just dropped it and forgot about it. I never see him mention it, he's done no music videos (wtf?) at all. It's weird.
Sep 5, 2017 And whether or not you'd like to say you hear drake on the radio, for the biggest rapper alive to have an album not even six months old with no songs in the top 50 on the radio: http://www.billboard.com/charts/radio-songs More Life went quick. Stoney from Post Malone is doing better than More Life, as are two albums released five months prior nearing a year old http://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200 Drake has zero songs in the top one hundred after dropping a project six months ago He has zero songs in the top fifty digital sales: http://www.billboard.com/charts/digital-song-sales h---, currently he is the 21st most popular artist: http://www.billboard.com/charts/artist-100 Mask Off came out around the same time off of FUTURE, and is still in the top 50 streaming songs, where once again, Drake is nowhere to be found: http://www.billboard.com/charts/streaming-songs http://www.billboard.com/charts/digital-albums More Life is not in the top 25 digital albums, though d--- is which is only a month older. A hundred albums, many older than More Life are outselling the album: http://www.billboard.com/charts/top-album-sales 50 hip hop songs played more than anything from more life: http://www.billboard.com/charts/hot-r-and-b-hip-hop-airplay and the list goes on. More Life fell tf off, sorry
Sep 5, 2017 Tbh I was really excited for PGLTM and it had two big hits with Good Drank and It's A Vibe but something felt like it was missing on that project. It was very solid but I can't help but feel that way and I can't really put my finger on what it may be.
Sep 6, 2017 Don't think it qualified for this year but that Cole album for sure; I liked it at first but once you scratch the surface it doesn't offer much else. Never mind the fact he is a top-selling artist, his competitors Drake and Kendrick dropped much better albums right after.
Sep 6, 2017 Amazing year for music, but many albums have came and went, at least for me Beautiful Thugger Girls AOTY
Sep 6, 2017 On a personal note I thought I'd be bumping Substantial's or DJ Okawari's albums a lot more but those came and went for me.
Sep 6, 2017 I thought Rozay's album was incredible but no one seemed to talk about it much after it dropped
