    People who were already fans organically took a liking to it, then labels pushed it so it would be successful among people who didn't know cardi b was a rapper. I don't really know how to explain this any more than I already have. I think the difference between a bite and homage is that when you bite you don't admit that you're stealing, you're trying to pass it off as your own.

    One of my professors in college said "bad writers plagiarize, good writers steal" and that always stuck with me.

    Thats how I felt when I heard the song, the song is even called "Bodak Yellow" how the fact that this song is homage is flying over people's head idk
