May 9, 2017 so i was bored and the youtube sidebar got me seeing shitload of Em interviews and facts and s---...i noticed something kinda interesting, not sure if its interesting enough for a thread but im bored when Em made his albums early on, he made very very few songs per album...actually they were so few that songs that dont make the album become famous on their own regard...he never made "500 songs" to pick the best 20 .. he made handful of songs that he wanted to make for the album and that was it..even when interscope didnt approve im back as a single, he made just one song in its place, TRSS....but now with every new album he says something like "i made 200 songs for this album"...Em verses lost its value that it used to have but yea thats it
May 9, 2017 I don't really believe in these "200 songs per album", on the other hand he's in the studio everyday, so who knows. If that's true, Em will become the next 2Pac when he die. Just think about the amount of posthumous Eminem albums.
May 9, 2017 I really think mmlp 2 was made by Paul. I think he came to studio and said.. ehh those times were good, you was blonde. I just wanna listen mmlp 2, can you do this for me? And Em said "okay"
May 9, 2017 Very true. There was also an interview with Skylar Grey where she said Eminem wrote and recorded his I need a Doctor verses in 2 hours. I could only think... why not just take some time to iron out some lines, master the flow and then record it? Nowadays it sounds like Eminem just goes in the booth, records, comes out, looks around his kitchen for some new appliances, rhymes them, and goes back in for a new track.
May 9, 2017 So he was lying when he said "he made almost 3 albums worth of relapse tracks?" I guess that would explain him not releasing relapse 2, and it just wasn't the criticism.
May 9, 2017 Well he has also had 3 years or more in between his last few albums whereas his early albums came out like 1-2 years after each other
May 9, 2017 I think when he was younger in his prime he didn't need to record that many songs because everything he touched turned to gold anyway, and was probably too drugged up to care too much Now he's even more obsessive/OCD & would have more time on his hands than ever before, and more lyrics...so it makes sense that he records so many songs and narrows them down for the album Can't help but think he has left out some absolute classics over the years. He definitely had better songs than STIW for MMLP2 for example but felt it 'fit the theme more'. Just hope get to hear all these tracks in the future
May 9, 2017 Even though I was around during Ems prime I do not remember hearing much on the amount he recorded for his earlier albums. I know he has a lot of his prime era but nothing compared to the amount he makes for his albums now. This has always been my thought honestly. He makes too much music for his albums and that results in diminished content. He doesn't seem to reuse his old stuff that never made previous albums. He always makes new s---. I think he would still be dropping classics if he just went back and reworked his older songs that never made his previous albums. It is good so he doesn't get rusty as he says but why not go back and polish his older s--- up.
