Plus with PC you can have huge resolution textures due to graphics cards having 4 to 8 gbs of memory.

But with unlimited budget it still will be looking better on PC. "run like s--- on any PC build, even PC's rocking $800 cards for example" It just doesn't use whole power of your GPU, that doesn't mean that game runs like s---. It means that game should run better when you spend that kind of money.

    I agree with this.

More ports should be made from the PC instead of the other way around. Especially when both the PS4 and Xbox One is powered by ATI.

So I think we are all right. PC gaming and PS4 are directed to different groups of people, but in some ways PC gamers can go into consoles world to be able to play certain exclusives. If there weren't any exclusives for certain platformes and all games would be multiplatform PC gamers and console gamers would be two different groups of people.

yeah it's not native 4k, because native 4k on a gaming console isn't affordable atm (as it's not really affordable on PC).

But sony have developed some upscaling tech that sounds pretty cool. They patented it as well. It basically samples pictures at 2k-3k then does checkerboard upscaling to 4k (which is nothing new) BUT, sony has almost post-processing affects added ontop of the chekerboarding (which if you read about, actually sounds pretty revolutionary from a digital art standpoint) which essentially makes it look almost identical to 4k. the difference is a few pixels, a few hundred dollars, and about 10-15 frames per second. Also, since its upscaling at 2k/3k, ps4pro games are still running in 2k/3k which is a lot more suitable for tv's as they're bigger than PC monitors.

Ps4Pro is 30-60 fps for already released ps4 games and wont actually upgrade any already released games, yeah. but newer games, or games patched at a later date can take advantage of its extra processing power. (the 3 games Sony has lined up for taking advantage of the 4k look great too. Horizon zero dawn, days gone and FFXV - people have stated after seeing live demos for FFXV that it looked like an almost completely different game when it was running on ps4pro)

No, sorry that's not how it works. For the most part if money is not an issue, all games will look and run better on PC, yes. But not every game does because so many companies half-a--- their PC port and fail to optimize their s--- properly. MGSV runs perfect on nearly any card and people do nothing but rave on about how well it runs on max settings with older graphics cards (was released on every console as well as last-gen). But to my knowledge, there still isn't any PC that can run certain games better than consoles. Assassins creed 4 is the only example i can think of atm, but i know there's plenty more (check the video theg posted above for pro evo soccer too).

144 hz monitors are pretty gimmicky too. There's not much of a reason why you'd get a 144hz monitor unless you play CS:GO/something along those lines, competitively really. theres a difference in them, but theirs numerous articles online that suggest the minute differences are barely noticeable when a humans concentration is focused on performing well in-game. As I said before too, the 4k thing is more so for console gamers too, like on average TV's are a lot bigger than PC screens - so it makes sense to push for something like 2k-4k on them.

As far as myself and screens go, I'd be more than satisfied with a 2k monitor for PC gaming because imo the differences between 2k and 4k are hard to notice on pc monitors in the size I like, so ultimately i wouldn't benefit from 4k pc gaming unless i bought some big a--- screen, which just doesn't feel comfortable staring at from a desk imo.

144hz is a gimmick because it's indistinguishable with 120hz screens. But the fluidity, everything just feels so smooth and beautiful. Mac OS Sierra just feels like f---ing magic on a high refresh rate. Windows looks good as well but doesn't have that flair to it that makes it look good on fast refresh rate monitors.

But it does make windows look smooth.

That combined with the low input lag makes those monitors with it. It's less frustrating then having to deal with jerky s---.

2K I agree with because my phone screen is 2K and I can't notice a difference between it and 4K. It looks as smooth as a 4k screen and the pixel density is amazing.

I can see more 2K monitors than 4K monitors to be honest.

Coco don't believe the articles until you've used a high refresh rate monitor for a week. You won't be able to go back.

I've used 144 hz monitors before, i dunno though. It just seemed to me like when i was playing a game it didn't really make the much of a difference for me to notice cause i was so into the game. but I found when i watched other people play on 144 i was like "oh s--- this looks so much smoother, holy s---"

For me it makes targeting enemies much more easier since I'm not dealing with lag which causes me to miscalculate the distance I should move my mouse, especially in close range.

I fared good with an inferior mouse but your senses should work the same as real life in a video game.

Consoles are good because everybody is limited to the same lag and the same frame rate but on a PC. It's much more uneven.

Which leads me to differ... I wonder if a pro gamer could still score as well on inferior equipment?

Playing PES on console is a crime, because it doesn't have almost any licences so I don't know why they still make s-----y version for PC, when they can just skip it or release it with the same graphics since it's very popular on PC (at least it was when it was the same game on every major platform) and I don't see how they want to outperform FIFA on consoles without licences (on PC at least you can get them by a mod). Yes, PES has a cool gameplay, but it lacks in every other aspect.

    As for Assassin's Creed:

Yeah, some games have problems on premiere, but it is patched after like a month maximum. I recall only one game with huge problems that only partially went away after like 6 months it was Batman: Arkham Knight. Basically they straight up gave a task to make a PC port of that game to some s-----y company without any experience and they (Warner Bros) still decided to release it in this condition despite warnings from company that made this port. It's still stuttering in some cases, but nowadays it will be able to run normally when installed on SSD and played with proper GPU. The problem was a long latency when passing data between RAM, VRAM and HDD, because it was coded to take advantage of shared-RAM (used in XBOX ONE and PS4), so game stuttered like h---.

hdr is a f---ing stupid meme btw it's a technique that's been around for decades in photography and it just looks like cancer
its something every single photographer does when they get their first DSLR, crank up the HDR and make all the shadows bright and highlights dark. it looks like f---ing s---.

Yeah i remember when HDR photos were a thing, like people would post them all ver the internt like "WOW" and i was like, "pretty sure i did art in high school and when we studied photography HDR was literally a filter/button. It can be cool, but just taking a picture of some broken down car, slapping HDR on it along with your name... f---ing cancer lol.

    I think HDR on some games looks cool though and really ups the atmosphere. But that's specific games only. For example i think it looks good/works well here;
Feels like it really adds to the lighthearted semi-serious sci-fi fantasy world. Hard to explain but imo it "fits" here. where as in a game like... MGSV if you added HDR i feel it would take away from the game and make it look less serious/realistic. If that makes sense.

kind of think as well that games with a low polygon count for their models would maybe benefit from HDR too.

Actually without the detail from the dark areas it's not technically HDR. HDR requires an high exposure for the dark areas. Low exposure for the bright areas and a middle exposure to get everything inlbetween.

I will say yeah, HDR is overrated because every device can do it now.

this isnt how it'll actually look, this is just an "artists rendition" of it, you'd need to see it on an actual HDR screen to see how it looks accurately but they tried to represent it by just bumping up the shadows and making everything more vibrant than it should be

It's simple. what console are most of the people you will be playing with on? Forget specs and power and s---. Non of it matters if youre left to play Battlefield online alone.

I own both and never play X1 for that reason alone.
