It was a horrible period. We got some Em songs sparingly. Most were trash. We did get some good verses like Emulate, but mostly filler. I would ask myself how was such a genius who made incredible music a few years prior putting out this garbage? Especially at the high level he was once at. That all changed October 2008 when I'm Having a Relapse dropped. I didn't care about the accent, I was happy his rhyme schemes were fire again. But during that whole period, album rumors would drop, but nothing happened. In hindsight it was for the best. King Mathers would have s----d. So he waited and we got Relapse when he was back to himself again. But still, he did have good music here and there.

It really s----d, because it was the worst era of rap ever for the majority of the hiatus... Encore was structured like a quasi-retirement album too, so some thought he might be done for good. There was talk of “King Mathers,” but all of that came from Ca$his. There were rumors of Eminem being on drugs, but I don’t think fans really knew it was as bad as it was. When he OD’d it was reported in the news as pneumonia... It felt like a really long break... much longer than the break between MMLP2 and Revival, even though they were close to the same length. We were never sure if we were getting another album until Relapse and Relapse 2 were announced.

I was a huge fan in 2002. My father was playing My Name Is and some other popular songs of Eminem. In 2002, for the first time my father bought an Eminem album which was the Eminem show. I was constantly playing that album and after that I watched every music by Em closely. But still I was like 13 or 14 at the time proof died so, I wasn't really having a hard time with everything going on with Em. I started to forget about him after Encore slowly. With relapse I kinda remembered Eminem again and became a fan again. It wasn't really easy to follow the artists you like back then. In between MMLP2 and Revival, it was a lot harder for me. Because I was definitely a bigger fan and it was a lot more easy to follow the artists you like so, it was harder.

    Spatula Relapse is a masterpiece

Eminem should have responded to reaction for relapse the way he did for revival. Blame everyone for being too stupid to get it and stick to his guns. Relapse deserved fighting for and if he stood his ground on it he would have shown artistic merit. "f--- you, this is my vision and what I want to do". Revival deserved the backlash.

I mean, you cam kinda do this for any rapper. Its mostly an expressionistic art form and delivered in first person lol. But give me a few minutes and I'll see

You can do all those push ups to pump up your chest. Got a twelve gauge moss berg to pump up your chest. Have you gasping for air when them shells hit your vest. Fear me like you fear god cause I bring death. Silver back gorilla in the country jungle. I’m the strongest around you know how I get down. I Watch gangsta flicks and root for the bad guy. Turn if off before the s--- ends cause the bad guy die. If you tryin to buy guns I’m the n----- to look to. So what they got bodies on them - they still look new. You can raise your voice like you fittin to touch something. When I raise my knife I’m fittin to cut something.

That whole era was an amazing run. I'm gone all the invasions and beef, obie and fifty features...and boo ya tribe an em verse with an amazing delivery that still never gets the love it deserves.

Love You More and We As Americans are both great, and Stay Wide Awake is amazing. The writing for that song is some of his best as far as multi syllable rhyme schemes go. But never mind SWA isn’t from 03-07

I still find it incredible how em simply destroyed the beat on not alike , like he came on the track and he did whatever he wanted to the beat

No one can do that beat like he did it

He has the most versatile flow ever

I know everyone hates it, but I aint gonna lie. I do f--- with his verse on numb lol
"but odds are/ ima end up, in the back of a squad car/
by the end, of the night/ ima rock star, get ya wind up
its attack of the odd ball, homie can ya/
show me where the gosh darn, bath salts are
cuz im sick of sniffing asphault every thoughts dark
got my pants off, at the cross walk In suspenders
and I cant feel my lips cuz" I figured he was referencing the Jason russel incident. I don't think its cohesive with the whole song. but I liked the bars.

Years 11-13 were so unbelievably terrible. Can we talk about some of his guest verses during this time? Total GOAT verses.
