How do you guys think eminem's career will be "metaphorically" implemented into the story of southpaw.

Parallel to how the protagonist faced a tragedy, lost everything; and came back stronger than before

Yes.
The script was written with the assumption that he played the leading role, the movie was made for him.

Plus the relation the character have with his wife and his daughter is a direct reference to kim/hailie

Eminem first years - took his anger out in his songs which made him one of the greatest
Jake's character first years - took his anger out in the ring which made him one of the greatest

Eminems downfall - Proof got shot which made him a pill junky and depressed as shieet
Jake's characters downfall - his wife got shot which made him depressed (maybe an alcoholic too i think)

Eminem's comeback - he realized he couldnt be that pilljunky since it effects his daughters so he started to get clean and he started to rap again since it would help him become his oldself again and thats the oonly thing he knoooows
Jake's characters comeback - they took away his daughter so he had to change and the boxing helped him to get mentally stable again and helped him be himself again since boxing is a part of him

Eminems recovery - He made Recovery and became the best once again
Jake's recovery - he recovered and became the best once again

well i dont know about the last part i think the rumors of southpaw was out around relapse
