Ridaz definitely has the relapse vibe an So Bad being a shady backstory kinda sorta fits with Relapse moreso then recovery.

So Bad I can see being a Relapse 2 track before he switched gears. I mean, it is the worst song on the album I think.

lmfao Mr. Porter was our saving grace?

and I doubt his Forever verse was recorded in 2008. doesn't sound anything like relapse or even his "King Mathers" material. and he clearly says "So Drake" at the end so it was definitely written and recorded for that track

No, it was Mr. Porter. I'll find the interview in a minute. I know Eminem admitted that Just Blaze was really one of the first producers to say "No, try it this way" but I think that was just in general. By the time he started working with JB the accent was long gone. It was July of 2009 when he recorded On Fire out in Hawaii with Mr Porter and Dr. Dre. After that we never heard the accent again(The Warning, Forever, Drop The World)

Pretty sure they were still meant for Relapse 2 though, just because it didn't have an accent doesn't mean it isn't meant for Relapse 2

Eh. Recovery is a solid 6/10. Relapse 2 would of been a 4 or 5/10

Well yeah I agree with that but I was disagreeing(with another poster) that they were originally made with the accent and then rerecorded.

Paul Rosenberg, Eminem's manager and Shady Records president, says there wasn't one defining moment where the planned "Relapse 2" evolved into "Recovery." But a trip designed to work out music for "Relapse 2" produced two songs, Dre's "So Bad" and Mr. Porter's "On Fire," that had a different sound than "Relapse."

"When Em came back home he said he wanted to keep going; he was in the right space to continue recording, and Dre was still in Hawaii to work on his record" ("Detox"), Rosenberg says. "We've been working for a while to get (producer) Just Blaze and Em together and there was some great chemistry there, which ultimately led to us exploring some possibilities that otherwise wouldn't have been there."

Not surprisingly, different personnel led to some varied hip-hop soundscapes. Mid-tempo radio-friendly hits mix and match with underground shockers. Guest spots on the mic include Pink, Rihanna and Lil Wayne.

D12 rapper and producer Denaun Porter, who has worked with Eminem since the mid-'90s and who produced a track on "Recovery" as Mr. Porter, says the album is a clear departure from last year's accent-heavy and dark-themed "Relapse."

"I'm so proud of him for making an album of this caliber," Porter says. "He's been fighting demons in public for a long time and you can't look at this story without seeing something great. From the suburbs to the hood, this is a Detroit story that should touch people. Where I'm from, there's something here for everyone."

That's all I could find for now.

well it's almost always the producer

also I pieced pretty much everything together myself so obviously there could be inaccuracies

but afaik a timeline like this doesn't exist anywhere else

Didn't Koolo confirm that "Cocaine" was a Relapse 2 single contender?

I've never seen any definitive evidence about Relapse 2 tracklists, especially as it evolved out of those original 100 songs and into Recovery over time. I'd give up Recovery for R2 in a heartbeat though, despite the risk.

Both wrong. He checked out studio leaks after word that leaked songs came from there. He quickly noticed every one hating his accent, so he stoped. :wth:
