Producers of the forum, when you produce, are you producing for you, or for other people?

Like, do you set out to make your own songs at the end of the day? Or are you more interested in giving your work to others to make songs of it and behind more behind the scenes so to speak?

I'm personally not really good at working with others, I feel like my music doesn't really mesh all that well with other peoples styles, and I have my own meaning with my work that gives my work the mood and sound it does and I don't generally pick up on the meaning behind other peoples stuff. I want all of my production to really stand on it's own and tell it's own story. I've never been able to really make beats for other people and I can't really seem to work all that well with what other people already have put together (as far as remixes, co-production is concerned). It feels limiting in a way, but I feel like it's part of what sets my production apart from a lot of others in both a good and a bad way at times.

I feel like I'd have more reach and get more of my music out there to others, but it's a very difficult thing for me.

Generally more often than not, I produce for myself. Lately though I have been having an interest in working with other people.

I find that when I have a direction I am going in my creative output is better and my beats are more focused, full, and musical.

So I try not to "produce just to produce". I don't like flying aimless. I like my instrumentals and songs to have meaning instead of feeling empty.
