My post definitely wasn't directed at anyone on this board. I know everyone here is very knowledgeable about music. I just find it odd reading facebook posts etc with people saying things like "David Bowie is my all-time favorite artist and the biggest influence on my life" when they never mentioned him before today.

I didn't even think to post this thread because I've been grieving all day. It's like I lost somebody I knew. RIP to one of the greatest artist of all time. & my idol. It definitely is ridiculous how people that used to care less about him are into him now, f--- that. This man was timeless and he'll live on forever. Everybody who reads this better at least listen to Blackstar and understand how much of an artist this man was, even in death he was true to the art. There truly is a Starman waiting in the sky.. RIP Bowie, Ziggy, Aladdin Sane, Major Tom, Halloween Jack, and the Thin White Duke.

Being a big fan of the The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and all that, I kinda feel ashamed to not be familiar with his music being as big and influential as he was.

Tonight & Never Let Me Down are his only subpar albums, he admitted it himself. Because he was writing for an audience and not himself, but even those albums had some gems on them.

Why is @Drax99 acting like Bowie really fell off at some point then?

Maybe because he considers his late 80's and 90's works not too good, but that's a matter of opinion. The man was always innovating in every way possible. Some people prefer that and some don't, but Bowie never fell off. At least IMO

Let's dance, black tie white noise, earthling, hours, his self titled album, and the man who sold the world all s--- rhino c---. also stardust is overrated and so is hunky dory, more a fan of low, station to station, and heroes.

Ziggy Stardust & Hunky Dory overrated? I think your just not a fan of that type of music. You're a fan of the experimental Berlin Trilogy era, which very well may be his best. But just because you didn't like his other albums doesn't mean they s----d by any means man. What do you think of Scary Monsters?
