    You know what I'm mad about? It wasn't the massive amount of drugs Bowie did that took him away, and it wasn't old age, it was f---ing cancer. f---ing cancer took away David Bowie. Right after he drops a great album too. What the f---? Rest in peace you wonderful alien.

    I'm so f---ing sad about this. One of the best artists of all time, this is not up for debate. I'm so glad he had the chance to release Blackstar before we lost him - what a creative, vital, fascinating note to end on.

    For those of you looking to check him out, I think his two most accessible works are Hunky Dory and Ziggy Stardust. They're only the tip of the iceberg, but they're a strong starting point. If you don't like them, music might not be for you

    If you haven't gotten into Bowie yet, you really should. Was fortunate enough to get into him a few months ago leading into his new album. Still have long ways to go but I'll be making that trek these next few days.

    You know how Kanye switches up his style with each album? Well imagine that but with rock music. You can't pinpoint one genre or style to Bowie. If you want something more pop, try Hunky Dory or Let's Dance. If you want a rock opera, try Ziggy Stardust and its sequel, Aladdin Sane. If you want something more experimental, try out his "Berlin Trilogy," made up of Low, Heroes, and Lodger. If you want something soul-influenced, try Young Americans. I could go on for hours about this s---. The man was a shapeshifter in his music and his image, truly a legend.

    Didn't even know he was battling cancer. Although I'm not familiar with his work I know he's one of the most iconic musicians to ever live.

    been listening to a lot of his earlier work this morning. my favorite being love you till tuesday and there is a happy land so far. listened to space oddity, and listening to man who sold the world right now. Hunky Dory for the first time next.

    its always bittersweet when someone's passing is what has you finally going through their work.

    I also haven't heard much of David Bowie's music, but that doesn't mean I'm going to accuse people I don't know of 'pretending' to be fans on the day the man dies. He was clearly a huge and important figure in music, and frankly, you sound like a f---ing moron making those vacuous assumptions. you make it very hard to like you.
