I want to like revival because there are a few gems but it's such a disappointment, not that my expectations were high. But the album rollout was WOAT. I would honestly fire Paul if I were eminem

When they were making MDGC Dre really wanted Eminem to go at R Kelly so Eminem threw in the Bump and Grind line. Dre thought it wasn't enough and told him to go harder and say more. Eminem rightfully thought it'd be too much and refused. That was the beginning of the end for those two.


As for Detox and Relapse there were a lot of articles about how Dre was nearing completion of Detox in mid 2008 but according to Jimmy Iovine "when a guy like Eminem catches fire you stop what you're doing and give him everything" and that turned into Relapse.

Side note- lol at sobering up meaning "catching fire".

Oh man, what an epic f----up of a rollout:

Failing to take advantage of the Trump freestyle hype - check
Stupid Revival medicine ads that had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the album - check
Paul giving DJ Salad an "exclusive" song to piss off the fanbase - check
Dropping a single that was highly unlikely to be a smash and then promptly stop promoting the song after it was a flop - check
Failing to capitalise on Em's TV performances + complete silence on release date - check
Following that lead single with a cringeworthy attempt to get attention with Untouchable (who the f--- uses this song as a single?) - check
Finally announcing the release date after all hype was long dead - check
Constantly sidetracking fans by promoting merch that had nothing to do with the album - check
