Nov 15, 2016 i don't have a favorite NBA team, but i loved yao. he was one of my favorite players in the league. and he's also a classic example of greatness lost due to injury. dude easily could have been one of the best centers ever. but he just couldn't say healthy. that happens to lots of centers though. rick smits, andrew bynum, andrew bogut, etc
Nov 15, 2016 I think China forcing him to play cut his career short. He needed summers off and rarely got them.
Nov 15, 2016 Yes I forgot him. 1 of 2 only non 49er players jersey Ive ever owned. Reminds me, how could I forget Barry Sanders
Nov 15, 2016 Keep in mind he was 22 at the time. Idk how much truth their is to this but the story goes that Rose reached out to D Wade in the offseason and never got word back. Days later obviously we all found out what they were gonna do in Miami, but according to Bill Simmons Rose dedicated the rest of the summer to 'destroy those guys.' Won the season series and played them well in a tight but short series. No telling the level he would have been at had he not blown his knees out, he was on pace to be one of the best PGs of all time. Same skill set as Russ except Derrick was a lot smoother and was more of a natural PG than Russ is.
Nov 15, 2016 i was a d rose stan bro. I used to tune in to every chicago game just to watch him play. s--- breaks my heart seeing him struggle
