Iconic album that will give anyone growing up in that time period nostalgia. I distinctly remember being in elementary school when this came & you heard “In Da Club,” “Many Men,” “P.I.M.P.,” & “21 Questions” EVERY WHERE. Cars blasting it out speakers, in malls, commercials, MTV etc. You talk about an album that literally took over the music industry overnight, this was it. This was in large part because it’s one of the finest produced hip-hop albums ever. 50’s charisma/swagger is so abundant throughout the project, he just sounds so natural. It makes the whole album so hypnotic, like you just have to bob your head to every song. I’d say this album is like a high 8 but for rounding sake I’ll just say 8.5/10.lil uzi vert stan, BIGFOOT, Fire Squad and 2 others like this. -

Tribe's We Got It From Here.... gets a well-deserved 9.5/10 from 9 ratings
and now...
Who woulda thought, 10-odd years ago, that the angsty, Relapse-inspired, foul-mouthed, cockroach eating, "k--- people burn s--- f--- school" Tyler, The Creator, who made amateurish yet endearing Pharrell rip-off instrumentals in his basement would evolve into one of the decade's most mature, critically acclaimed, innovative rappers in the game? I knew something special was coming from the moment that incredible Who Dat Boy video dropped, but wasn't prepared for the sheer beauty and diversity and growth and raw honesty this album offered. IGOR is the big glossy cherry on top of this - and its acclaim is definitely well deserved - but this is the album that sparked the shift of Tyler's entire narrative and propelled the Odd Future frontman to the stratosphere. I give it a solid a--- 8.5 garcons outta 10.

After releasing no albums for almost 2 decades, Tribe made their comeback in 2016. And d---, what a comeback it was. An old school sound yet sounding fresh and very good. It's like they never left. 8.7/10

I remember hearing about Zay when this came out on a defunct basketball forum and not really understanding the hype. It took me a while just before TST arrived for him to finally click with me. Cilvia Demo really is an outstanding and an absolute watershed project, capturing TDE's momentum of the early-mid-10's.
The flows and cadences on here are infectious. The production is marvelous. The subject matter is resonant and evocative. He wears and tips his hat to his influences tastefully like on RIP Kevin Miller, West Savannah and Brad Jordan. He lays bare his vulnerability, his upbringing, his relations and his demons. It's intoxicating, it's heartbreak, it's anger and it's carthatic. He really did burst onto the scene here and it's from this project's strength alone at times that he's still a highly anticipated artist.
For me, he's probably my favourite rapper of the past decade. I'm hesitant to give it full marks as I feel TST is the better album, but you can't go wrong with either. It's criminal that he's only released two projects, and is seemingly a wantaway rapper from the spotlight. 2020 should see his sophomore album released, and it could well be his last album before he calls it quits and retires from music.Bojack, Sav Stanfield, Michael Myers and 1 other person like this. -

Isaiah is quietly my favourite TDE rapper and this was a h--- of a debut for him. His southern influences definitely helped him stand out from the rest of the label, but he more than kept up with them lyrically. Not to take anything away from Rock and Q who both really brought it with their features. Isaiah grew over time and Sun’s Tirade is an even better album in my opinion, but this was still one of the strongest debuts of the decade 8/10Sav Stanfield, Ordinary Joel, Bojack and 1 other person like this. -
