Revival has zero truly great songs, and a s--- ton of really bad ones.
Bad production, bad mixing, bad flows, bad content, just a truly miserable experience to sit through. Awful, awful album that I hope to never revisit or have to hear anything from again. Easily his worst album to date.

Its a pity that Ghostface Killers is by far the best song on this project, it kinda leaves you feeling disappointed that those same heights aren’t reached for the rest of the runtime (excluding maybe Ric Flair Drip). Still, this is one of my favourite projects from 2017 and over a year later is still in heavy rotation. 21 Savage has been d--- near the best feature artist of 2018, and already on here he was showing marked improvements from his previous work. Offset is in top form, once again proving why he’s by far the most valuable Migo (say what you will, Takeoff doesn’t come close imo). Both 21 and Offset them are dropping new projects in the next week or 2 and I have unreasonably high expectations for them.
As for Metro… it’s no secret I’m a Metro stan and good f---ing lord does he shine on this. Like his recent compilation album, each track is interwoven with its neighbours, making for a listening experience that is completely cohesive from top to bottom. You can’t help but feel outright terror as 21 and Offset trade bars about hacking you up without warning over those nightmarishly dark and twisted instrumentals Metro seems to be able to pull out of thin air. Plus that snarling hound on the album cover is f---ing perfect. If I had to nitpick, the album does drag a little towards the end and if you’re looking for variety you won’t find it here. Still, its a solid 8/10 for me.

This was an interesting revisit, granted it's not the slice of nirvana I was hoping it'd be but man hearing that unmistakable 2000s R&B sound brought me back to a happy place. Nelly does take a step back compared to his energetic performance on Country Grammar and the run-length does go on for too long, but the singular moments where he delivers what he does best--making hits--he knocks it out of the park. p---- Juice is the best song oat and Air Force 1#s was your instant messenger sound don't lie.Ordinary Joel, Buddha, Sav Stanfield and 1 other person like this. -

I'm gonna skip this one since I haven't listened to this whole album more than once or twice (long time ago). I'm gonna listen to it this weekend -so thank u Sav- but hard to fully judge it.
But I see 'Dilemma' and 'Hot in here' on the tracklist that alone makes it good lol. Timeless classics. Splurge is also a great song.Sign Language, CSA, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this. -

As others have already stated the rollout to this album was stressful and exhilirating at the same time. I have no shame in the fact that I stayed up until 3am for two nights in a row to get the first crack I could at it. FSMH pt 1 intro is the most iconic music moment of the decade, FML and Real Friends don’t get nearly the appreciation that they deserve, and Famous upon first listen gave ya boy all types of chills. The musicality of this album will stand the test of time, it’s aged way better than it should have, and if Yandhi is as good as this album is considering his mental state as of late, I’ll be more than satisfied.Buddha, Sav Stanfield, BLACKIV and 1 other person like this. -

Musically and lyrically, this album is a bit of a mess, but somehow, it works out. Completely disregarding how messy getting this album out to its fully updated form was, I feel like it was worth it because the album as it is today is a really enjoyable listen. Sure, there are a lot of dumb lyrics, but I feel like it has a lot to do with this album being a look into Kanye's state of mind. I thought it was a better look into how Kanye felt on the inside than Ye was. This one is a lot more raw and raunchy, and it has a lot of great moments too imo. You can't deny that this is one of Kanye's most creative albums. Also, all of what was happening around this album with the line about Taylor on Famous and the meme-ing of FSMH just makes this album more memorable.

@Slyk we should give @Sav Stanfield the ability to feature albums—he's up on current music and it would be cool if he could feature the albums he does for this thread (though I don't mind doing that myself to help out as well)Sav Stanfield, Buddha, Slyk and 1 other person like this. -

I get f---ing mad that we were robbed of the guy who made this album dropping even more music, he literally had it all the flow the rhymes the wit to write fictional stories with irony
When they set the f---ing apartment on fire and the dread kid ejects and Biggie shoots him and as they're on their way out and the fire alarms are going off they notice the cats in ranges double parked by a f---ing hydrant and Biggie and Arizona Ron from Tucson get out with the money themselves f---Sign Language, Sav Stanfield, Ordinary Joel and 1 other person like this. -

10/10.
Biggie is the goat. Ready to Die and Life After Death are both 10/10. Regardless of the filler on LAD, it doesn’t hurt the album enough to knock it down from a 10. All the non-filler tracks are timeless classics in my opinion.
I still listen to Long Kiss Goodnight almost every single day. Always puts me in a very motivated mood. Like I’m ready to take on the world (in a positive way). Biggie on a RZA beat during RZA’s domination of hip hop production? Yes f---ing please. Legendary song. Aside from just this song though, I listen to biggie all the time. He’s the only artist I truly and unabashedly stan over. Goat.
For the sake of transparency, this album and ready to die were the soundtracks to my high school years back when I was smoking blunts all day every day chasing tail for the first time as a young man. So my rating is very biased. f--- it.
