Dec 30, 2015 Notice the Marshal Mathers LP and Marshal Mathers LP 2 sales differential....27,000,000 for Pt 1 vs 3,000,000 for Pt. 2.... He has not surpassed 20 million in album sales since ENCORE Eminem came out with a album in: 1995s infinite, 1997s SSEP, 1999s SSLP, 2000s TMMLP, 2001s DN , 2002s TES, 2004s Encore.... 7 albums in 9 years.....plus numerous guest feats. Eminem's new pace?: 2009s Relapse, 2010s Recovery, 2011s BME, TMMLP 2 2013... 4 in 9 years And his own words on the matter Rap god You get too big and here they come trying to Censor you like that one line I said On "I'm Back" from the Mathers LP One when I tried to say I'll take seven kids from Columbine Put 'em all in a line Add an AK-47, a revolver and a nine See if I get away with it now That I ain't as big as I was, but I'm All Fact!
Dec 30, 2015 In Fact Combined sales of the marshal mathers lp 2, h--- the sequal, recovery, relapse, the re up, d12 world, encore, and the 8 mile soundtrack, eqauling 49 million in sales, 8 albums, get destroyed by the marshal mathers lp pt 1 and the eminem show by themselves, at 52,000,000 in sales. So 2 albums at 52 million, overshadowed 8 other later albums, which as a whole, stand at 49 million. If that is not a fall from fame, i dont know what is.
Dec 30, 2015 MMLP2 is not a masterpiece. However, its not trash either. Shady XV on the other hand, isnt great. Bad Guy, Evil Twin, So Much Better, Brainless, Beautiful Pain, Groundhog Day, Legacy, Rap God, Rhyme or Reason - All great songs in my opinion. And as for Shady XV, Guts Over Fear is one of his best songs period. The singles for MMLP2 were admittedly quite poor though, minus Rap God which is one of the best and unexpected things Em has done in a long time. Headlights is great on paper, but his screaming delivery still f---ing baffles me, and iv never been a fan of the beat and hook. Berzerk's hook and beat are godly, but the verses are subpar, especially the second verse. Great video though lol. The Monster is actually a guilty pleasure of mine, cant fault it at all. And then there's Survival, which shouldn't of been on the album at all. One of the things that iv loved more than anything recently isn't Em's rapping, but his production. His beats have been on point for the last couple of years, especially on MMLP2, but also more recently on Yelawolf's Love Story album, on the song Heartbreak. That beat is f---ing brilliant, and it was actually recorded in Detroit with Em, and if you listen to the chorus (nearer the end of the song) you can actually hear tones in Yela's voice and certain adlib's that you just KNOW Em suggested. His verse on Best Friend was also amazing. So i would say his role as a producer has been significantly improving as of late, but there are still niggling factors in his own rapping delivery that alot of people are not liking. But as for me, i still think hes f---ing great (probably always will lol) although i do see and understand why other people are so critical of him since his return.
Dec 30, 2015 now this is a dumb post, who said that a man can't change his opinion, outlook views or even taste? ok, I used to hate on gay people now I'm a lot more tolerant that I used to be, does that make me a hypocrite in your opinion? you obviously don't get the Rap God line, he says that just because he recorded songs for example with Rihanna, people say that he went pop. "It's not hip hop, it's pop." - he mocks people who say it all of your points are...
Dec 30, 2015 I mostly agree with you but there's no arguing that he's still not as good a musician as he once was. He doesn't necessarily have to be either, I still appreciate his content as much as anyone, but I won't lie to myself and say he hasn't fallen off to some degree.
Dec 30, 2015 Did you seriously just say...that the MMLP2 is... a masterpiece? Definitely disagree with that. It's a decent album, but far far far from a masterpiece. Lyrically, he's gotten better. His execution however, hasn't. Shady XV and Southpaw some decent contributions from Em but for the most part, those projects are trash.
Dec 30, 2015 This list is so wrong omg. Relapse sold maybe 4.5-5 Million at best Recovery 8-8.5Million And MMLP sold 5.5 Million. Just sayin.
Dec 30, 2015 Did you pull your numbers out of your a--- cause the original list is accurate It sold 8 mil its first year and 11 million alone in the US by 2014.
