I'm looking for that special called Prelapse To The Relapse where Eminem went through every track from Relapse and talked about every song. It used to be on Youtube, but it's not anymore, or I can't find it. @DetroitSkills, if I'm not mistaken, you're the man for these sort of things.

He's way more articulate on this interview ... wtf happened to EM. His recent interview he can't even find the right words, like there is a hole in his brain.

"i just dont care what people say about me...f--- people who have anything else to say about it, i just dont care"
He (or Paul) obviously did care because his next album was drastically different to relapse

Wow I don't think I've heard this before. He sounds... happy here? Content, enthusiastic, and genuinely disinterested in criticism. It's hard to imagine the 180 he'd make less than a year later.

I also wish he'd have stayed in this mentality.

Eminem should have his own direction and style he wants, even if he alienates some of the fans. If he felt like being a serial killer rapper for the rest of his career, he should have stuck with that. Turning 180 and dissing his own album a year after because it got a lot of criticism is not something I can respect. Even if I thought Relapse is absolute garbage, I'd respect him more for doing what he wants. I doubt he would have kept doing it after Relapse 2, but at least he'd have switched it up because he wanted to, not because the label told him.

god the beginning hyped relapse up to be so goat. "4 years of ect ect" ma gawd.

Then we get arab Marshall pretending to be a killer on 90% of the album

"I had to go to that place and go to this one" "I can do better than this man" inb4 Marshall realised this during this interview and recorded Recovery the next day

He was referring to 2005 - 2008 period with "I can do better than this". Stuff like Wee Wee, not Relapse.

Relapse is great. I love it more than Tyler the Creator does.

His Relapse 2 interview on MTV Germany gave me the biggest hype for an Em album since TES back in late 09. Shame he didn't put it out

Well, I consider Recovery a classic Eminem album, but depending on my mood I prefer one over the other. But I know Recovery was sort of forced upon him. I wish we got Relapse 2 even though I like Recovery.

I just love how he didn't hate Relapse until a select few complained about the accents and serial killer content. He was obviously okay with it when he put it out. I think he should've just said f--- it, and put out whatever he wanted after that. He never cared about criticism before that, so why did he care when he made Recovery? SSLP and MMLP were not THAT well received. Most critics s--- on them when they came out. He didn't start apologizing for those when he made TES. I think he also made Recovery more radio friendly because Relapse was his least successful album commercially. That's why he worked with producers that made more poppy beats and he started using that forced shouting on every track. That's also why it seems rushed, because he felt obligated to put out two albums close together because of Relapse 2 being scrapped. Then on MMLP2 he felt like he needed to change his flow and start doing that stop and go s---. I guess he felt like he needed to do something new or people would accuse him of rehashing his old albums. I feel like he's always under pressure and worried about what other people are gonna think. I know he can still rap with his normal flow because he does it just fine on Bad Guy. Then again some beats he chooses have really weird timing and it kinda forces him to rap that way. The songs Rick Rubin produced are probably the worst on the album. Rick Rubin is a legend, don't get me wrong, but I do think he threw the album off track.

He's not fooling anyone into thinking he didn't feel like doing Relapse 2. He was forced to change it and s--- on it. I lost a little respect for him because of that. I've been listening to Relapse a lot lately, it's a masterpiece.
