Yea lol. That’s who cole was talking bout in his funk flex freestyle when he was like “if noggas plan to put a hole through my polo because I won’t help their promo , so be it” “your street s--- don’t apply to me”

Also.. about the 910 space s---, I commented on the interview he did years back, I said, basically it sounds like you was using cole, and cole was using you, I told him he won’t cole true homie, cause if he was he would still be around cole til this day like his day ones still are (ced, mike Shaw, ib etc) 910 space and cole just so happen to be 2 n----s who were in nyc around the same time coming up trying to get it, that’s how the met.. space said he wanted cole to put him on, cole said he would sign him to dreamville when he launched it, but space said he wanted cole to put him on to jay z, he didn’t wanna be under cole.. he said after that cole just basically cut him off, and shiddd, rightfully so lol. Cole probably just said f--- it, this n----- trying to use me to come up. Cole tried to help him, but he wanted more basically. Instead of him being on dreamville, he felt like since he was older than cole or his peer, he shouldn’t be under him.

I kinda felt the 910 space s--- didn’t correlate with the timeline cole was trying to tell on the album, but I said s---, maybe cole kinda went off the timeline a lil bit to put that in there lol . The tank Tyler s--- makes more sense. 2013-14 is when all that s--- started happening, and cole did his funk flex freestyle and address it on GOMD, he was around 29 then

Cole had the audacity to call Kendrick’s albums boring then proceeded to put out The Snooze Off. SMH!

Cole had some good songs on here but the majority of the album still doesn’t hit for me. I couldn’t call it a classic. Too much of the monotone singing songs and not enough rapping. More songs like Quik Stop would’ve been awesome. That’s my favorite song on here, the one song I could really feel emotion in Cole’s delivery. I feel like even that Birthday Blizzard tape had some better rapping than a lot of the tracks on The Fall Off. He had some intensity there

Pitchfork gave the album a 5.3. For once, I agree with their take:
By the end of The Fall-Off, it’s abundantly clear the album doesn’t warrant 101 minutes: J. Cole doesn’t have the perceptive lyricism of the strongest independent rap, nor the novel production of the regional underground scenes, nor the mainstream gloss of someone like Don Toliver.

It's a shame cos I was rooting for Cole especially after his great Kendrick diss but he messed up again. Dude struggles to make good albums.

Safe to say Cole shouldn't be anywhere near a top 20 list... I'd say he's probably top 50.

Likewise. All his pop up stuff in a Honda this week selling physicals and hanging with fans is super cool. And he’s incredibly talented. After all these years, I just don’t understand how he’s never been able to get it together to put out a compelling album.

Shame isn't it . .. I blame his team. Imagine Cole on 2000s Dre production. He'd be dropping classics.

When Cole jumps on similar beats he's a monster.

In terms of rapping ability and building a fan base, Cole has certainly earned the right to EP his own albums. But…

For the sake of discussion, pretend we live in a world in which 2001 or the Blueprint were never released and all those instrumentals were donated to Cole, no strings attached. Even in this setting, I think Cole would still choose to rap over the Ambien esque beats he picked for the album. And that’s just the production.

Content-wise, both Kendrick and Jay-Z, for example, have made locally relevant music that extends to encompass bigger issues, making the music relevant on a nationwide/worldwide stage. Cole’s worldview has always been too small, obsessively local, and, well, outright boring. Give us your interesting take on something. Anything! For example, we all know that Cole feels a way about certain very public industry-related situations, yet, we never get even an ounce of insight or introspection regarding this. I don’t want to anchor on this, but it is just this is just one obvious example for the sake of discussion. The key point is, Cole clearly chose to put some sort of “filter” on the vast majority his raps that removes the vast majority of genuine introspection or unique perspective. The raps are still technically excellent, the storytelling is very good, but the songs ultimately puts most listeners to sleep. I think the key question he needs to ask himself is, is this a story that we really need or want to hear? For the vast majority of this album, the answer is overwhelmingly “no”.

Reading through these latest posts I get the feeling that if Kendrick dropped this exact same album, y’all would call it a classic from first listen, and if Cole would have made GKMC y’all would call it a snooze fest..

Anyway, I’m still amazed Cole pulled it off, a double disc album that I can play from front to back, enjoying it without having to skip a track.. we’ll see a month from now if this changes tho.. but so far this album is dope AF.. but personally I really love the laid back mellow beats, and think Cole always floats on those.

I think at this point in his career, cole can just release music, stop putting expectations on it lol. Bout like nas, nas just releasing music at this point to add to his discography, I don’t put much into judging it, either I like it or I don’t.. cole a vet now, I feel like either you gon like the music, or don’t like it lol. Ain’t no changing who he is as a rapper now, that s--- set in stone. I don’t every song on the fall off.. you know what I did? Made my own playlist of the songs I do like and listen to it like that lol

One thing I never understood, how do people listen to and critique an artist they don’t even like.. that’s like me steady going on posts about rod wave and talking bout his music, knowing I don’t listen to it. See, I don’t even listen to a rod wave album, why do n----s who don’t like cole always listening to his s---? I think dudes genuinely f--- with cole music, they just love their favorite artists so much, and they know he outrap these n----s, but they can’t admit it lol. I don’t f--- with a lot of Kendrick music, but I’m not going in Kendrick section a a forum saying nothing, idc that much, I’m not under Kendrick videos commenting bruh s---. I’m not making think pieces for TikTok about dudes music. ., I don’t get it lol.
